🌷To honor Vesak Day, the monks and congregation at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Dunedin gathered on Sunday, May 31, 2026, to hold a tranquil meditation session and a traditional light-offering ceremony.
🌷The day’s schedule opened with a period of group chanting and mental cultivation, establishing a serene foundation for the merits that followed. The lay community then participated in the Sangha Dana, with designated representatives offering nourishment to the resident monks.
🍀As evening approached, the community returned to their practice, aligning their minds before the candle-lighting tribute. The collective flame was then kindled, symbolizing deep-seated veneration for the Buddha’s timeless wisdom.
🪷Marking the trifecta of the Buddha’s birth, awakening, and final passing, Vesak Day holds immense spiritual weight. It offers a beautiful reminder to express our deepest appreciation for his universal compassion and guidance.
🙏We joyfully extend the fruits of today’s virtues to everyone. May you be safeguarded from all illness, enjoy a peaceful and enduring life, and find fulfillment in everything you do.
