This Sunday Night is our second Theology Night (of 5, throughout this year). We're diving into our doctrine of the Bible!
Here's how it starts:
One of the more perplexing things about the Christianity-landscape is the way everyone reads the same Bible, and yet there seems to be so many different interpretations of the Bible out there (and all too many unedifying debates over them!).
There are debates about historical happenings: the Garden of Eden, Moses and the Exodus, Jesus’ miracles, the resurrection. There’s debates about the significance of the law, land, and nation of Israel. About salvation: how Jesus saves, whom he saves, whether and what hell is. About the Holy Spirit: what’s he up to these days? Christians debate about church: leadership, worship, music, baptism, the Lord’s supper. About ethics and engaging with the world: social justice, gender & sexuality, environmentalism, politics. And about the shape of God’s future.
It can feel like a minefield. We even have debates from the Bible about the Bible... How can we know what the Bible really means?
Come on Sunday night and find out!
