The Hilal Committee of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) is pleased to announce that the new moon of Shawwal has been sighted today. Accordingly, Saturday, 21 March 2026, will mark the first day of Shawwal 1447H and the day of Eid al-Fitr.

FIANZ extends its warmest greetings of Eid to the entire Muslim community across New Zealand. We pray that Allah accepts our fasting, prayers, and all acts of worship performed during the blessed month of Ramadan. May He reward our efforts abundantly and envelop us in His infinite mercy.

FIANZ would also like to thank the Muslim community for its continued support, unity, and cooperation. We ask Allah to fill this joyous day with barakah, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, and grant peace and prosperity to all families in New Zealand.

May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds during Ramadan and grant us the blessings of Eid.

The Hilal Committee of FIANZ is pleased to announce that the new moon for Ramadan has been sighted today. As a result, tomorrow, Sunday, 2 March 2025, will mark the first day of Ramadan 1446H. Ramadan Mubarak.

This blessed month is a time for drawing closer to Allah (SWT), and seeking His mercy and forgiveness. Let us follow the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (*) by fasting with sincerity, praying with devotion, and reciting the Quran abundantly.

May Allah accept our efforts, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us the immense blessings of this sacred month, including the great blessing of Lailatul Qadr.

The Hilal Committee of FIANZ wish to inform the community that the new moon for Dhul Hijjah was not sighted today. Therefore, we will complete the month of Dhul Qa'dah tomorrow (8 June 2024). The month of Dhul Hijjah 1445H will begin on Sunday, 9 June 2024.

Eid-ul Adha will, Insha Allah, be observed on Tuesday, 18 June 2024 (corresponding to 10th Dhul Hijjah 1445H).

The Hilal Committee takes this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and blessed Eid. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala accept your udhiyah (qurbani) and other virtuous deeds during the blessed days of qurbani.
