On the 13th of July, the Kaipara Apostolic Pentecostal Fellowship held the opening service in the Te Kopuru School Hall.

Our Superintendent Pastor Billy and his wife Sister Lisa Lemon. As well as many friends and family, and the fellowship we were apart of were present that day. And Pastor Billy ministered a message entitled “A Refuge in the Kaipara.”

The message drew from the book of Numbers chapter 35. Describing a place of spiritual safety for those seeking refuge here in the area. It’s been one year and some change, 1 year and 6 days to be exact since that very first service here on the 13th of July 2025.

But today was more than an anniversary.

Today was more than celebrating twelve months. Today we celebrated the faithfulness of God. We celebrated answered prayers. We celebrated souls that have been touched. We celebrate sacrifices that no one saw. We celebrated every prayer that was prayed before the doors ever opened. Every chair that was set up. Every offering that was given. Every invitation handed out. Every hour spent in preparation.


And today we took a moment to reflect and say this,

“Look what the Lord has done!

For the past two weeks, the message we’ve heard has been connected to 1 Peter 1:15–16:

15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Before God calls us to serve, He calls us to be holy.

Before the call to evangelise, before the call to preach, before the call to any ministry.

HE FIRST CALLS US TO BE HOLY‼️

He calls us to be set apart unto Himself. He calls us to be separate in every aspect of our lives.

Not just the areas of our lives we feel comfortable surrendering, but every area of our lives.

In summary, the call to holiness is a continuous process of becoming more like Him until every aspect of our lives becomes a reflection of He who has called us.

Praise the holy name of Jesus. 🙌🏽

The Messianic hope the Prophets foretold of, that the Children of Israel anticipated with expectation. Of a saviour who would deliver and save his people. Has been extended to ALL men through Jesus Christ, the Messiah and saviour of the world

Today’s message touched on Revelation 2:4.

The church at Ephesus was commended for many good things. They had sound doctrine, labored faithfully, and endured hardship for the name of Christ. Yet the Lord had one thing against them.

They had left their first love.

It is easy to become busy with the work of God and yet neglect our relationship with God. It is easy to become occupied with ministry, prophecy, knowledge, and the demands of life, while allowing our hearts to drift from the One who saved us.

God is not merely calling us back to an experience. He is calling us back to Himself.

Remember the joy of your salvation. Remember the tears of repentance. Remember the gratitude you felt when your sins were washed away. Remember the passion that caused you to pray, worship, witness, and serve with gladness.

Over time, our relationship with Christ can lose the passion, affection, and intimacy that marked our walk with Him when we first believed. The danger is not always abandoning truth, sometimes it is continuing in service while losing the love that once fueled it.

The instruction from Jesus was simple. Remember, repent, and return.

Never allow ministry to replace devotion. Never allow activity to replace intimacy. Never allow knowledge to replace love.

NEVER NEGLECT YOUR FIRST LOVE.
