Come join us for worship today! We have services at 10am and 4.30pm.

👉This morning emeritus pastor Dirk van Garderen leads us in worship, introducing a series of sermons which will explore and explain what God’s Word teaches us about the offerings or gifts that we, as Christians, give back to Him. We begin at the beginning, the book of Genesis.

👉This afternoon, pastor Matthias leads us in worship. We will continue to look at the key teachings of the Christian faith as we learn from God’s Word why we do good. This might seem like a philosophical question of little importance, but the answer we give to this question reveals what we understand about who God is and what He has done for us in Jesus Christ.

“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth Worship the LORD with gladness” Psalm 100:1

Come join us for worship this Sunday! We have services at 10am and 4.30pm ⛪️

👉In the morning service, we look forward to the ordination and installation of six new office bearers. It is the Lord who provides these servants to care and watch over us, and so we can give thanks for the blessing of our leaders. As we look at what Christ has to teach us as congregation about our attitude to our leaders, and also what he teaches our leaders about their responsibilities, let’s thank him again for his care of us and stand firm in our confession of Jesus as Lord.

👉In the afternoon service, we will begin preparing our hearts for celebrating Christmas. We will do so by look at the truth about the incarnation. This is a big word that means that the Son of God became a human being. As we look at the love that led our Saviour to humble himself and become one of us, let us rejoice with the Church of all ages and places in the confession that our Saviour was born in Bethlehem, over 2000 years ago.

"Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel” ~ Isaiah 12: 5-6

What a blessing it is to gather again twice today to worship our risen Lord and Saviour.

👉This morning, our brother Steven van Garderen will lead us in worship. Steven will be reading a sermon on Joshua 1. Joshua succeeded Moses as Israel’s leader after a 40 year apprenticeship. Although the book is named after Joshua, it is more properly the story of the outworking of God’s covenant promises to his chosen people. The Pentateuch records how God created, established and ultimately delivered his chosen people. God provides his chosen people with the promised inher-
itance: a land flowing with milk and honey in which they would dwell with God in their midst. Just as God delivered the Israelites, he today delivers us through the gift of His Son Jesus Christ.

👉This afternoon, Pastor Matthias will lead worship. We will continue to learn the main teachings of the Bible concerning the sacraments, this time focus - sing on who may come to the table of the Lord.

Providentially, we also hope to celebrate the Lord’s Supper together this afternoon. Please come along and join your brothers and sisters at the table of our King.

Let’s rejoice together at the opportunity to come in worship tomorrow for God's goodness to us. A reminder this Sunday we have our monthly shared dinner after the evening service 🥙🫕🥪

🐋SUNDAY MORNING: we will finish up looking at the book of Jonah. Pastor Matthias will take us through chapter 4 as we look at how Jonah learns a lesson about God’s sovereignty in showing mercy to those who don’t deserve it. As we are confronted again with the width and depth of God’s amazing love in Christ.

📜SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Josh Meinsma will be on the pulpit here in Bishopdale. Josh will be looking at Belgic Article 21. This article is a great comfort for the believer as it teaches the doctrine of Jesus' satisfaction as High Priest. In our text from Romans 8:31-39 the apostle Paul assures the believer with this truth by revealing that the Father gave His own Son to die for our sin meaning nothing can separate us from His love.

"Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! 2For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!" ~ PSALM 117

Come join us for worship this today! We have services at 10am and 4.30pm 🌼🌼

👉Morning service, elder Richard van Garderen will lead the service together with brother Tom Littlejohn. The sermon is prepared by Rev. Dirk van Garderen, continuing in the series in the Gospel of Mark, we’ll focus on the striking message Jesus sent His disciples to proclaim. Were they ready? What were they to take? What was their message, and did they succeed?
As we journey with the disciples, we see that Jesus’s message to them is still relevant today. So, let's reflect on what true discipleship means. Are you willing to step out in faith, trusting God to provide and guide us?

👉Afternoon service, brother Michael de Ruiter will lead us in worship, with a sermon prepared by Rev John de Boer. We will look at Isaiah 40 and that God because of His Sovereignty, His Power, and His Covenant relationship promises to give and renew our strength.

"From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!" Psalm 113:3

Come join us for worship today! We have services at 10am and 4.30pm. While it maybe a chilly weekend it’s warm & toasty here at church ☺️⛪️

👉This morning, pastor Matthias will continue to take us through the book of Jonah. As we come to the most well-known section of this book, the prophet’s encounter with the big fish, may we again be reminded of who our God is and of all that he has done for us in Jesus Christ.

👉This afternoon, we will be learning more about what the Bible teaches about Lord’s Supper; so, come along and use this as a way also to prepare your heart to come to the table of the Lord.

“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares
the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts ~ Isaiah 55:6, 8-9
