On this Wednesday of Holy Week, let us remember that the true April Fools are those who willingly betray Christ.
All of us fall short. Take time today to examine yourself honestly: are there areas of your life in which you, like Judas, actively forsake Christ in favour of worldly things? What are your thirty pieces of silver?

Begin the journey to the Cross with us tomorrow at 7pm, and sit before it on Friday at 10am and 2.30pm.

Next week it all comes to a head.

This Sunday we sing hosannas and celebrate Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem within the context of our normal services. Then things start to change.

We are hosting the Diocesan Chrism service on Holy Tuesday. Please see below for our services throughout the rest of Holy Week, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions. 🍞🍷

Pope Leo XIV on Lent, "I would like to invite you to a very practical and frequently unappreciated form of abstinence: that of refraining from words that offend and hurt our neighbor. Let us begin by disarming our language, avoiding harsh words and rash judgement, refraining from slander and speaking ill of those who are not present and cannot defend themselves. Instead, let us strive to measure our words and cultivate kindness and respect in our families, among our friends, at work, on social media, in political debates, in the media and in Christian communities. In this way, words of hatred will give way to words of hope and peace."

At the beginning of this new school term, we wish to pray for all of our children and young people heading back to school. This Sunday the 15th of February, at the 10.30am service we will be offering a "blessing of the backpacks".
Children and students, please bring your school bags into church for a blessing! The aim is to encourage and help students feel supported by us and by God, as they go back to school and university this year.

St Christopher's remembers with great affection the life and ministry of the Rev'd Tim Robb, son of Rev'd Dr Jim Robb, our associate priest, and his wife Sandra Robb, who have been valued and vital pillars of our congregation for many years. Tim's cheerfulness, faithfulness, musicality and goodness were gifts to St Christopher's too, and we join with Julie, Sarah and all the good people at St Mary's Eaton Socon, in the Diocese of Ely, in honouring his life, and regretting his passing.

There were 1100 connections on the livestream at Tim's funeral February 2, including many friends from New Zealand. At the request of the Robb family, we make available the permanent livestream of Tim's funeral, and encourage his many friends here to join in music, Scripture, faith, hope and love.

"Thine be the glory, risen, conqu'ring Son;
endless is the vict'ry Thou o’er death hast won."
