Shelter from the Storm
Saturday 19 September 10am – 1pm

Where can we find real protection from life’s difficulties?

In this special half-day course, Gen Kelsang Luma will explain the Buddhist practice of going for refuge to the Three Jewels – Buddha, Dharma and Sangha – and how this practice can help us develop lasting inner peace and protection from suffering.

Discover how refuge can become a true shelter from the storms of life.

According to Buddha’s teachings, known as Dharma, suffering arises not from external conditions themselves, but rather from how we respond to them. Suffering arises from the mind and therefore to protect ourselves from suffering we need to understand and transform our mind.

Finding Peace in the Digital Age: Evening Talk with Gen Kelsang Rabten

Thursday 29 October 7.00 – 8.30pm
Venue - Mary Potter Community Centre, 442 Durham Street North, off Bealey Ave

Is it possible to find genuine peace in this digital age?

We live in a fast-paced world filled with distractions, constant notifications, and endless comparisons. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, restless, and disconnected from ourselves. But peace doesn’t come from switching off the world—it comes from changing the way we relate to it. Buddha’s timeless wisdom shows us how to stay calm and centred, no matter what is happening around us.

Join Buddhist monk and National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Rabten for an evening of wisdom and meditation to help us step back from the busyness of life, quiet the inner noise, and reconnect with clarity, focus, and joy.

Everybody is welcome.

Cost - $25 ($20 unwaged)
You can book online, contact the Centre to book your place or purchase your ticket at the door – eftpos available. Includes refreshments.

Silent Meditation Day Retreat
Saturday 5th September 10am – 3pm

On this day retreat our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Luma will guide simple yet profound meditations that lead you deep into the stillness of your own mind.
