“I always wanted to do something that was going to be impactful. After hearing about the LEAD opportunity in NZ, I thought why not look into something that will be great for the kingdom and as well as having the opportunity to live in another country. At the CO missions conference I heard of the need for guys to come help with the campus ministry down in NZ from the past NZ LEAD staff. This encouraged me to go because there the laborers were few.

I wanted to grow but also be used for God's Kingdom. And that’s exactly what has happened this year.” @ Christchurch, New Zealand

Spencer Hunt, a NC St grad who was Mobilization Director in Raleigh is bringing us this week’s . Enjoy! And check him out on our takeover tomorrow!

“I became a Christian halfway through my freshman at NC State, the Harvard of the South. Pretty quickly, my life went from being all about bringing myself glory, to being all about bringing God glory.

I had my first taste of international ministry in 2013, when I went on a CCP to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after my sophomore year of college. I still remember hearing a talk that summer about the needs of the world, specifically the 10-40 window, and feeling convicted about God’s plan for my life. Right then, I made a commitment to move overseas at some point in my life. I didn’t care when, I didn’t care what job I had, I didn’t care exactly where. I just knew that I wanted to be involved with a team working to see God’s Kingdom expand where the name of Jesus wasn’t widely known.

While I was a senior, I still had the desire to go overseas, but I felt God leading me to go on staff with Campus Outreach Raleigh. 2 years later, I had the chance to lead a CCP to Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2017. I loved it. I came alive, as if I was seeing in color for the first time. After the summer, I knew that God was calling me to go back to Chiang Mai, to help lead a LEAD team from CO Raleigh. Throughout the decision-making process, I kept coming back to the truths of Scripture, specifically Psalm 67.

“May God be gracious to us, and bless us, and make his face to shine upon us, that your way be known on earth, his saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! Let the nations be glad and sing for joy!”

I couldn’t read these, pray these, and not go. So, after 4 years on staff with CO Raleigh, my team and I moved to Chiang Mai at the end of August." @ Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Chiang Mai

Meet Rachel Williams, who just returned from 2 years with LEAD in Thailand, and shared her story for this week’s

“My earliest memory of missions was at a conference my church hosted when I was four years old. The speaker said if all the kids could stretch from the front to the back of the room touching fingertips he would give us ice cream. We stretched as far as we could, accomplishing the goal and then he said, “FREEZE!” His point for us to observe was that the only way the gospel will reach from one side of the world to the other is if everyone is participating and playing their role in making the chain. During the next several years I learned about missions through other conferences and even took a Perspectives course. () In December I was invited to join a LEAD team going from SEMO () to Chiang Mai, Thailand. It became clear that this was how I could play my role as a link in the chain.

My process went quickly because God had been working on my heart for many years. When it came down to decision day my thoughts were pretty simple. I am available to go, so I need to go. I knew I could put aside my dreams of putting down roots for two years to step into the unknown and watch God work. God showed up and showed off while our team was in Chiang Mai. He knit our team into a family, complete with a family vacation to the beach, he placed children into our lives so we became temporary aunts and uncles and he built sweet friendships with believing and non-believing Thai students. I am so glad I obeyed when the Lord called me to go. I am who I am today because of what the Lord did in my heart during the two years I served with CO LEAD. For some of you the process may be more complex, but for those of you who its not complicated, I just want to encourage you as someone who has gone before you, go! Take a step of faith and trust the Lord to lead you on journey more incredible than anything you could have imagined!” @ ตลาดแม่โจ้ เชียงใหม่
