Cornerstone is a young and dynamic church serving the city of Ōtautahi Christchurch. We're convinced that Jesus is the only solid foundation for life, and have a vision to see lives transformed as people encounter him through the Bible. Cornerstone started in 2008 as ‘Campus Church’ with a group of likeminded Christians and backing from local churches, to start a Bible-centred church that might pr

oclaim Jesus on the University of Canterbury and equip students for a lifetime of serving Jesus. We’re now a church of around 350 across three campuses: Cornerstone City Church, Fields Church and Campus Church.

Earlier this week, we came together across congregations for Prayer & Praise night! 🎶

It was such an encouragement to sing and pray to our Heavenly Father alongside brothers and sisters. We also enjoyed a delicious pizza dinner before the service!! 🍕🍕

We recently wrapped up our Taste & See course. Across four weeks and four delicious meals roughly 18 explorers joined us to hear the good news of Jesus!! 🍔🍝🥗

Prayer & Praise night is back for 2026! 🙏🏼🎶

Join us this Tuesday as all ages and congregations gather together to sing and pray to the God who hears and strengthens his people.

Dinner will be provided beforehand and the service is family-friendly. We'd love to see you there!

So keep going.

The staff team have been at the Reach Australia conference this week along with over 1200 ministry workers and church planters. We’ve been encouraged to keep trusting Jesus and working hard for gospel transformation in our church and city.

Remember the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge?

For many of us, that was our first glimpse of global poverty and generosity beyond ourselves.

But Christian maturity means learning to move from short-term challenges to long-term responsibility for the good of others.

This Sunday at Cornerstone, we’re partnering with World Vision for Chosen Sunday — an opportunity to hear about child sponsorship and consider making a small monthly commitment that can make a lasting difference in the life of a child and their community.

Whether you’re a student, working full-time, raising kids, or somewhere in between, generosity is part of the ordinary Christian life. We’d love you to prayerfully consider being part of it.

Taste & See kicked off this weekend: around 25 people are joining us to explore the story of the Bible unfold across four meals.

This weekend we savoured a vegetarian banquet celebrating food fresh from the earth and exploring the wonder and beauty of God's good design.
