We are a Community Church that meets at 106 Emmett Street. ESCC began in February 1999 and has its roots in the Methodist Church.

We are a grace-based, evangelical church & are keen for all people to experience the wonder of knowing & loving God.

Join us on Good Friday at 10am as we reflect on the hope of the cross, followed by hot cross buns together.

And again on Easter Sunday at 10am as we celebrate the joy of the resurrection, followed by a shared kai.

What a night on Sunday! Our annual Christmas in MacFarlane Park filled the park with music, laughter, and the joy of togetherness.
Nearly 300 people gathered to sing, celebrate, and share a meal. It was more than just food—it was fellowship, generosity, and the true spirit of Christmas. 🥗 🌟
Thank you to everyone who came, contributed, and made the evening so special. Shirley, you are incredible ❤️

Please remember, you are always welcome to join us at ESCC every Sunday and also on Christmas Day at 10 am.

Christmas is a time for celebrating with friends and whānau, with this in mind we would love to invite the Shirley community, friends and whānau to join us for a service in MacFarlane Park (near the Park Centre) this Sunday, 14 December at 4.00 pm.
There will be Christmas carols and message, followed by shared kai. Please bring a salad to share if you are able (meat and breadrolls will be provided), and a chair or picnic blanket to sit on.
All welcome! We'd LOVE to see you there!

Christmas in MacFarlane Park will look a little different this year - more like a family gathering to celebrate Jesus' Birth.

We will start a little later and still have music, a short message and some treats for the kids, but this will be followed by a shared meal together. The church will provide meat and bread rolls, and we're inviting everyone who comes to bring a salad. Please also bring picnic blankets and/or camp chairs to sit on.
