Hi Catholic book fans, I saw this in Stuff today. Very interesting story of the first known poem to be written in English. And what a beautiful poem!

Now we must praise the guardian of the heavenly kingdom, the might of the creator and his intention, the work of the father of glory, in that he of each wonder, eternal lord, established the beginning.

He first created the earth for men,
heaven as a roof, the holy creator,
then the middle earth, the guardian of mankind,the eternal lord, afterwards created
for men on earth, the almighty lord.

The researchers in Ireland looked at their computer screen, marvelling at a medieval book tracked down in a Roman library.

Pleased to say there are no road works outside the best Catholic 2nd Hand Bookshop in Christchurch 🙂📖

Despite the road works, the shop is still open for business. The best way to drive on Greers Rd towards Memorial Ave and turn left into Christ the King school car park
