📢 MAC Eid Prayer Traffic & Parking Notice

As-salāmu Alaikum everyone,

There is expected to be significant traffic on the morning of Eid prayer due to normal commuter traffic and the large number of people attending the prayer at the Stadium.

To help ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone, we kindly ask attendees to:

• Carpool where possible to help reduce vehicle numbers and parking demand
• Follow all directions from traffic management staff and MAC volunteers on arrival
• Enter and exit the venue carefully and be mindful of pedestrians and families walking through parking areas
• Allow plenty of travel time and arrive early before the prayer begins
• Be patient, respectful, and courteous to others throughout the event

Please remain aware of your surroundings and assist us in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organised environment for the community.

Please see our official statement below regarding recent public commentary following the FIANZ press release concerning the Auckland Mayor’s remarks.

As the custodians of Masjid An-Nur, MAC wishes to clarify its position.

MAC has not rejected any potential visit. However, no formal invitation has been issued, and no consultation has taken place with mosque leadership.

Our priority is to ensure that the voices of the all local Muslim community in Christchurch are respected and appropriately represented. As the recognised authority for Masjid An-Nur, MAC must be engaged in any matters relating to the mosque.

We remain open to respectful and meaningful engagement, grounded in proper process and genuine consultation.

EID AL-FITR ANNOUNCEMENT

Alhamdulillah, the moon of Shawwaal has been sighted today.

This means that tomorrow, Saturday 21 March 2026, will be Eid al-Fitr, in sha Allah.

We ask Allah to accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds throughout Ramadan, and to grant joy, peace, and barakah to our families and community.

We look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow, in sha Allah. Please refer to our previous post regarding the prayer details for tomorrow.
