'It's Ministry Day!'

It was cold when Pup and I left home for the city, but at least it was dry. The rain started soon after we left the Cathedral. Pup was pleased for her clergy puffer jacket; she kept dry the whole wander.

Pup got lots of fuss everywhere today. We warmed up in and she got treats and . She really is spoilt. Someone gave her treats and said she was portly! I don't think she is as portly as she'd like to be.

It has been a week of sitting with people in all states of pain. Pup helped someone today who had recently lost their dog. They were able to give Pup a treat and pat her while telling us about their friend who has gone over the rainbow bridge. Everyone walks around with some pain. Some act out, others retreat inward. A smile and a hello can be so significant.

A nearly blind and deaf old dog can make a difference too.

'It's Ministry Day!'

It was so cold, I woke up with Pup on my pillow; a mix of the coldness, excitement for her breakfast, and of course her morning in the city. Pup knows when it is Thursdays. Newt does too: every Thursday he goes straight back to bed, knowing he is allowed the whole morning in bed, instead of being locked out. It does mean he misses morning prayer, but he is ok with that.

Pup had a great morning in the city. She gets so much attention. Lots of pats, and lots of treats. She was spoilt (as usual) and was very stubborn about leaving. It is a bit embarrassing.

Pup is very good with people. She knows wherever will get fuss and treats. She can be a bit wary of some people, but gentle kindness wins her over.

I see the joy and happiness Pup brings to people. The mixture of her age, the clergy jacket, and her determined walk draw people to her. She is a sweet little dog. What a blessing she is.

'It's Ministry Day!'

Far out, it was cold this morning! Pup had to wait in the car with the heater blaring, while I poured water on the windscreen to remove all the ice. She was confused, but relieved when we finally made her way into the city.

Pup had a shorter walk than usual, but she made the most of it, getting treats from toddlers and older folk. Little kids like her, and when they get told how old she is they can't believe it! Pup got spoilt as usual and managed to solicite treats from customers there too!

Here she is at sniffing like crazy. She is hoping she will get something, but she didn't today.

Pup is now asleep on the couch after her dinner. I think she dreams about the people she met, the treats she got, and the pie she didn't. All in a days ministry for an old dog.
