God’s character is reflected through what is inside us, because what is in our hearts will eventually show on the outside. True character is more valuable than money or status, and it is better to live honestly with little than to become rich through lies. Our character produces hope and influences the opportunities and relationships that come into our lives.

Instead of chasing opportunities, we should focus on planting good seeds—developing our character, reading God’s Word, giving, loving, and growing in God’s presence. Just as planting sweet seeds produces something sweet, the seeds we plant in our lives will produce a corresponding harvest. We don’t need to chase; we attract through the character we build.

When life becomes difficult, look back at the “garden” you have planted and continue to grow. Stay in God’s presence, listen to the right voice, and allow God to help you blossom into the person He created you to be. What we carry within us will eventually be revealed through our lives.

What a beautiful time of fellowship, laughter, and togetherness as we gathered as one family.

Our theme for Family Day was “Build Relationships and Love,” inspired by John 3:16. God showed us that true love begins with Him and that, as a family, we are called to love, support, encourage, and build one another up.

Our second Scripture was 1 Corinthians 2:9, reminding us that God is preparing greater things for those who love Him and walk together in love.

We ended the night with a fun and exciting quiz, bringing everyone together for more laughter, fellowship, and family time.

May we continue to build strong relationships, love one another, and keep Christ at the centre of our families and our church family.

Topic: Our Jesus Is Our Healing Jesus

Key Scriptures: John 5:1–9, Matthew 8:1–4, John 4:43–50

Our Jesus is a healing Jesus who is able to restore, deliver and set us free. In John 5:1–9, Jesus met a man who had been sick for 38 years beside the pool of Bethesda. Jesus asked him, “Do you want to get well?” Instead of looking to Jesus, the man explained that no one had helped him into the pool. But Jesus showed him that his healing did not depend on the pool or on people—it depended on Him. Jesus told him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk,” and immediately the man was healed.

We also see Jesus healing a man with leprosy in Matthew 8:1–4 and healing an official’s son in John 4:43–50. These miracles show that nothing can stop Jesus from healing when we put our faith in Him. We must take responsibility for our faith and come to God ourselves, trusting that Jesus is able to do what no person or situation can do.

When we allow the Word of God to work in our lives, it brings healing, restoration and freedom because the Word leads us to Jesus. Faith requires us to rise up and respond to what Jesus is saying. Just as Jesus told the man at the pool to get up, take his mat and walk, we too must have faith, rise up and move forward in what God has promised. Our healing comes from Jesus, and nothing is too difficult for Him.

Topic: The Glory of the Lord

On our Combined Sunday Service, Rev. Malakai Meke shared a powerful message on “The Glory of the Lord,” reminding us that the church is a place where we are encouraged in our relationship with God and empowered through His Word. Haggai 2:7–9 reminds us that the glory of God will be greater, but greater glory also requires greater sacrifice. Through Galatians 2:20–21, we are reminded to surrender our lives to Christ and not take His grace for granted. We are called to be a grateful people, offering our praise and worship to God (Hebrews 13:15) and willingly submitting to God and those He has placed in authority (James 4:7; Romans 13:1–2; 1 Peter 2:13). We are also called to serve one another in love (Galatians 5:13), because we serve not only out of duty but because we love God and His work. As Hebrews 6:10 reminds us, God sees and remembers our work and love in serving His people. Ultimately, Ephesians 3:17 encourages us to allow Christ to dwell in our hearts through faith, so that by His grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can grow in our capacity to serve in love and step into the greater glory God has prepared for us.
