Brightwater Community Anglican Church As the local community church we seek to be a God loving community empowered to love and serve others Welcome we are glad you have dropped in.

We're a Christian community living life to the full. We hope you find our facebook helpful, but please contact us if we can answer any further questions or help in any way. Our vision is to be A God loving community empowered to love and serve others

We endeavour to do this by providing a range of opportunities to learn and exercise discipleship as individuals and as a church community. This is facilitated by providing a range of worship styles through to different small groups to provide both strong personal growth and a nurturing Christian community. Alongside this we seek to intentionally interact with the wider community.

Kia ora Brightwater community!

You may have noticed some scaffolding going up around St Paul’s Church recently, and I wanted to share a little update on what’s happening.

We’re currently replacing the old asbestos tile roof with a brand-new roof! This is a significant project that will make a huge difference to both the appearance of the church and its long-term preservation.

St Paul’s is a beautiful historic building and an important part of our Brightwater community. We want to ensure it continues to be a place of worship, community gatherings, and quiet reflection for generations to come. This roofing project is another important step in our ongoing care for this special place.

Over the past year, we’ve also been working hard to care for the church grounds and cemetery, including significant tidying and maintenance work, along with the restoration of the fencing.

Looking ahead, once the roofing project is finished, we hope to continue restoring the building, including repainting the exterior and restoring the windows. These projects will happen gradually as resources allow.

We’re also looking forward to opening the chapel regularly to the public once the roofing work is complete. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, you’ll be welcome to pop inside, appreciate this beautiful historic building, or simply enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet.

We’re really grateful to be able to care for this special part of Brightwater’s history and ensure it continues to serve our community well into the future.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Blessings

Vicar, Waimea Parish

Next week we’re joining with Christians across Aotearoa for the 24-7 Prayer Global Week of Prayer.

St Paul’s Chapel will be open each day from 10am–7pm for anyone who would like to come in, sit quietly, pray, and spend some time with God.

We’ll also have a simple hosted prayer gathering every day, with morning, midday, and evening times across the week. Together we’ll make space for Scripture, stillness, shared prayer, and praying for our church, our local community, people to come to know Jesus, and the wider world.

Come along to one gathering, a few, or simply drop into the chapel whenever it suits. Everyone is welcome.
