Greetings Ignite Family,

Well what an exciting week. The opportunity to be back in the building together is wonderful. We know not everyone will be able to be there, so will post the content for you all still.

This is the second week of April's theme, Puzzled, and it is all about hope. Life can sometimes feel like a giant puzzle. All we can see is the piece we’re experiencing right now, and we’re not sure where it fits into the greater picture the is forming. We can’t always understand why some things happen to us or those we love. Yet, despite our confusion, we can have hope. God has kept promises throughout history. We can believe that God will continue to be with us through what we face now. Even in the toughest times, we can have hope because we know God is always working and can make something good out of something bad. This week's the key question is "What are you hoping for?"

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3jo23gk

Then you can discuss or think about:
• What are some reasons that God’s plans are best and always better than ours?
• What’s a good way to react when your plans don’t work out the way you’d hoped?
• What can you do when you feel disappointed, angry, or confused about what’s going on in your life?
• How can we show that we believe God sees the big picture and is still working out a plan for our lives?
• What are some hard situations you or other kids your age have gone through?
• What does it feel like when you’re facing a tough situation and you can’t see or understand what God is doing in it?
• What does it look like for a kid your age to trust God when going through a problem that feels hopeless?
• Why does it give us hope to know that God is ALWAYS working out God’s plans and will NEVER stop?

Greetings Ignite Family,

We start April's theme today and we move into a month called Puzzled and is all about hope. This week's the key question is "How do you react with bad things happen?"

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3wTE5lf

Then you can discuss or think about:
• What is something good that you have learned from going through a hard or difficult time?
• What would you never learn if you could snap your fingers or say a special prayer and solve any problem in exactly the way you wanted?
• How did Lazarus, Mary, and Martha experience hope in today’s story?
• Where do you go to find hope?
• How would you explain hope to someone?

Greetings Ignite Family,

We finish March's theme today. March has been all about Cooperation. This week's the key question is "How do you cooperate every day?"

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/384wPbU

An Activity
Read through the below passage and underline all the times the church showed cooperation.
“The believers studied what the apostles taught. They shared their lives together. They ate and prayed together. Everyone was amazed at what God was doing. They were amazed when the apostles performed many wonders and signs. All the believers were together. They shared everything they had. They sold property and other things they owned. They gave to anyone who needed something. Every day they met together in the temple courtyard. They ate meals together in their homes. Their hearts were glad and sincere. They praised God. They were respected by all the people. Every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47, NIrV)
Then you can discuss or think about:
• How many examples are in this passage of how early church work together?
• Why do you think cooperation and working together was so important for the early church?
• What was the result of them working together well?
• How does our church work together?
• How are we similar to the early church? How are we different?

Some other questions you can discuss or think about related to our topic today:
• Why is it important for us, as Jesus followers, to show cooperation and work together?
• What can be the result when we work well together?
• What can be the result when we don’t work well together?
• Since cooperation isn’t normally thought of as a daily “habit,” how do we form a habit of working with others?

Greetings Ignite Family,

We continue the theme for March, which is all about Cooperation. This week's the key question is "Who do you know who needs help?"

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3igrFeN

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• In our story today, who worked together to help the man who couldn’t walk?
• When the man was lowered in front of Jesus, Jesus saw his needs. How did Jesus help the man?
• Jesus worked together with the friends to help someone in need. Does Jesus work together with us today to help others? Why or why not?
• Why is it important to work together to help someone in need?
• How does working together help others know Jesus?
• It is easy to miss opportunities to work together to help someone in need. What can help us recognize when someone needs help?
• Sometimes we see someone in need but we don’t know what our part is to help them. For example:
o Your friend needs help with their soccer game but you don’t play soccer. What can you do to work with others to help your friend?
o Or your class is putting on a talent show to raise money to help a family in your neighborhood, but you don’t like to perform in front of people. What can you do to work with others on the talent show?

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• What does it look like to succeed?
• When has someone helped you succeed or when have you helped someone else succeed?
• What is the benefit of working together to help someone else succeed?
• What could be the disadvantage of working together to help someone succeed?
• Why would you want to help someone succeed if you aren’t going to get credit for your efforts?

Hello Ignite Family,

March is all about Cooperation. This week's the key question is "When have you seen people work together?"

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3CiNVhm

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• When have you seen people work together? Think about when you have seen people work together at school? At home? In church?
• When have you had to work with other people? Did it go smoothly/well?
• What do you think could happened if the Israelites refused to work together? If everyone just went and did their own thing instead of working together?
• What can happen when we decide we don’t want to work with others, when we think we can do things better alone?
• What are some results of working together with others?
• Why is cooperation important?
• How do you know God values cooperation? Think about how God includes us in the plan. God could have created a tabernacle without the Israelites and yet they were involved in working on it.
• What can get in the way of people working together well?

Hello Ignite Family,

February is all about Compassion. This week's the key question is "When has someone made time for you?"

It is an important question because it reminds us to make time for others as well.

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3soYjkk

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• Think about the stories you’ve heard about Jesus this month. Who did Jesus make time for? What did you learn from Jesus about what it looks like to show compassion?
• When we are busy, it is hard to remember to make time for others. What can help us to remember to slow down and notice the people around us?
• Think of a time you needed help and no one made time to listen to you. How did you feel?
• Think of a time someone took the time to help you. How did it make you feel?
• How do you think it affects other people when we slow down to make time for them?
• Can you think of someone in your life who has a need you can help with? What could you do to make time to help them?
• What gets in our way of making time for others? When is it hard to make time to help someone else?
• What can we do to remember to make time for others?

06/02/2022

Hello Ignite Family,

With the new month comes a new theme for our Sunday teaching. February is all about Compassion. We start this week with the key question "What's your purpose in life?"

It is a pretty big question, but if we look at Jesus' example and Isaiah 61, then we see some aspects to apply to our lives. Looking after the poor, bringing freedom to others and more.

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3J5Spdk

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• What did Isaiah say would be Jesus’ purpose in Isaiah 61:1-2?
• According to this passage, what does compassion look like?
• Think of the stories you have read in the Bible about Jesus. What are some examples of how Jesus cared for someone else’s needs?
• What does compassion look like for us?
• How does Jesus show compassion to you?
• What are some things we can do to show compassion to others?
• When have you seen someone caring for some else’s needs?
• When is it hard to show compassion?
• What if you notice someone needs something but you aren’t sure what to do? For example, you notice your friend seems sad but you don’t know why or what to do?

Week 5's question: How do you know when to stop?

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3rjRT5v

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• What does God give us to help us identify where we need more self-control?
• What might God use to help us figure out when it’s time to stop doing something?
• How do parents and others that care about you help you know when to stop?
• How does growing in self-control demonstrate our love for God and a desire to live for Him?
• What does it look like to keep our time, money, activities in balance?
• What does Proverbs 22:3 say to you about knowing when to stop?
• What might be the “danger” in doing too much of a good thing and letting it get out of balance?
• How do you recognize when something is out of balance in your life and you need to stop doing it?
• Who can you depend on to help you know when to stop?

Week 2's question: When do you lose control?

You can access the So & So Show here.
https://buff.ly/3taexOT

After the video, here are some questions you can discuss or think about:
• How would you explain self-control to someone?
• Why is self-control so important? Why can’t we just do what we feel like doing?
• If parents and other adults have placed more “walls,” boundaries, or rules in your life than you’d like, how could growing in self-control demonstrate that you might be ready for some of those walls to open up?
• Where do you need to most grow in self-control? What can you do to help that process along?

You can also access the devotionals for this week here.
