Dear Muruga Devotees,

The important festival of Purattasi Sani (புரட்டாசி சனி) festival is starting from Saturday 19 September and will continue for the next Five Saturdays. Please note the following important aspects:
• 1st Purattasi Saturday: September 19, 2026
• 2nd Purattasi Saturday: September 26, 2026
• 3rd Purattasi Saturday: October 3, 2026
• 4th PurattasiSaturday: October 10, 2026
• 5th Purattasi Saturday: October 17, 2026

The burning of chutties/diya:

Mornings: after the completion of the morning pooja, till 1.00pm

Evenings: after the completion of the evening pooja, till 8.30pm.

Please note that chutti burning will happen on 19 Sept, 26 Sept, 3 Oct and 10 Oct only (NOT on 17 Oct)

Please also note - Saree/veshti sales will take place on 19 September at 11.30am.

Please note there will also be the SPECIAL POOJA - TRISATHI ARCHANA on all five days (refer below).

Dear Muruga Devotees,

In the recent days you would have come across the horrifying videos and pictures of the devastation caused by the flash floods in Nepal. At the latest count over 1000 confirmed dead and many more thousand people still unaccounted for.

In addition to the humanitarian grounds - many of those affected are Hindu pilgrims who were either on their way from or to Mount Kailash.

Our temple is keen to do whatever we can to facilitate raising the funds to help the victims and their families in the following manner:

• A SPECIAL DONATION BOX has been placed to donations near the Temple counter.
PLEASE NOTE: No tax receipts will be issued for these donations as the benefits are not derived in New Zealand.

At this stage we expect to keep the fund raising efforts on for two - three weeks and at the end will pass on the collected funds to the appropriate channels.
