Everyone loves a hearty breakfast. The men gathered on Saturday morning for our blokes Breakfast and to hear our guest speaker Chris Moody share his faith story. There was great kai, good company, laughter and even a Harley in the room. Men of all ages enjoyed the time together and asked when the next one will be.

✨ A big week of celebrations!
We celebrated Tobias’ dedication on Sunday, celebrated with cake that we achieved 100% Red Shield Appeal site coverage with 247 hours collected, and supported Breast Cancer Awareness and Pink Shirt Day with plenty of treats and learning along the way.
A huge congratulations to Ashleigh from Rata Educare on her recent graduation. So much to be proud of this week!

We celebrated our beautiful wāhine on Sunday. It was a joyful morning honouring all women—mums, spiritual mums, aunties, and every wāhine who nurtures and influences our lives.

We enjoyed a fun round of It’s in the Bag, took time to remember the wāhine who’ve gone before us. Linda shared God’s word, highlighting four women in the Bible whose encounters with Jesus brought transformation, while Allan painted a butterfly as a symbol of that change. We finished with a lovely morning tea together.

A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed our Red Shield collectors this past week. Our volunteers loved meeting you — your warmth and generosity mean so much. Because of your support we can keep providing kai, social assistance, financial mentoring, youth work and so much more for our community. We’re truly grateful — together we’re making a real difference.

We’re excited to have Linda Bateman joining us as our guest speaker — it’s going to be a special morning.

After our service we will enjoy a yummy morning tea and a chance to connect.

On Sunday we celebrated Celebration Sunday and launched our brand‑new series on the Armour of God. Each month we’ll be unpacking a different piece of the armour, and this month we began with the Belt of Truth.

We were reminded that truth matters — it sets us free, it steadies us, and it helps us discern wisely in a world where things aren’t always as they seem. We talked about testing what we hear, read, and see, and what it looks and feels like to live grounded in God’s truth.

A highlight of the morning was a visit from our very own Roman soldier, helping us understand the equipment he wore and why the apostle Paul used this powerful illustration in Ephesians 6.

At the end of the service everyone was invited to take a wristband with Ephesians 6:10–18 as a reminder to stand firm in God’s truth each day.

We wrapped up with shared kai and great time of fellowship

It's that time of year again- our annual Street Appeal is just around the corner. From 4-9 May, our team will be out and about collecting outside several of our local supermarkets. We'd love to see you as you're out doing your shopping and appreciate every bit of support. If you’d prefer to donate online, that option is available too. Just scan the barcode blow. Every contribution helps us continue supporting whānau in our community.
