“Peace be with you and your whanau.”

Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Bula Vinaka, and greetings to all.

Following the current alert regarding Cyclone Vaianu and the avice to remain at home and prioritise safety, the church leadership team has decided to cancel the Pitt St 10:30am Sunday Service of Worship.

The wellbeing of our congregation is our highest priority. In place of gathering, an Order of Service and Reflection have been provided for use at home during the usual worship time.

We encourage everyone to stay safe, remain in contact with one another, and support those who may need assistance.

Peace be with you. Amen.

✨ Matariki – A Time to Reflect, Rejoice & Reconnect ✨
He wā hei whakaaroaro, hei whakanui, hei hono anō

As the stars of Matariki rise in our skies, we are reminded of the beauty of ngā tīmatanga hou – new beginnings, the importance of remembering our whānau kua wehe atu – loved ones who have passed, and the joy of gathering together as a whānau whakapono – family of faith.

Just as Matariki signals the Tau Hou Māori, it’s also a moment for us as a church to pause, give thanks to Te Atua, and reflect on His faithfulness through every season.

🌟 We remember those who have gone before us
🌟 We celebrate the present with gratitude
🌟 And we look forward with hope, trusting in God’s perfect plan

“Nāna ngā whetū i hanga, ā, e mōhiotia ana e ia te ingoa o ia whetū, o ia whetū.”
“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.” – Ngā Waiata / Psalm 147:4
This Matariki, may your hearts be full (kia kī ōu ngākau i te aroha), your homes warm (kia mahana ōu kāinga), and your spirits renewed (kia whakahoungia tō wairua).

What a powerful and joy-filled morning we shared at our Combined Wesley Sunday on Sunday 25th May🕊️💒

This special service was beautifully led by our amazing rangatahi – bringing energy, wisdom, and deep faith to every moment. 💥🔥
The service also brought our Auckland Central Parish family together 💖💙💜💛💚

We were honoured to have Reverend Nicola Grundy – Kai Hāpai with us, who delivered a stirring message themed “Mission Possible” 🎯 — a bold reminder that with God, nothing is impossible and our calling to love, serve, and transform our communities is always within reach. 💪🏽✨

From the opening prayer to the final waiata, the Spirit moved mightily through us all. Thank you to everyone who came, participated, and celebrated this special time of unity and inspiration. 💖

🫶🏽 Let’s continue to support and uplift our young leaders—they are not just the future; they are the now!

Today we give thanks to God for the incredible women who nurture, guide, and love us—mothers, grandmothers, aunties, step-mums, foster mums, and all those who mother in countless beautiful ways.

Your kindness, strength, prayers, and unconditional love reflect the heart of God. Whether you’re celebrating, remembering, or holding space for complicated feelings today, know that you are wrapped in the love and grace of our Creator.

We pray blessings over all mothers today—may you feel seen, honoured, and deeply loved.

Easter Sunday: From Brokenness to Resurrection

This morning, the sun rose — just as it did over 2,000 years ago when the stone was rolled away and death was defeated.
But Easter isn’t just a story we remember. It’s a truth we live.
It’s the reminder that even after betrayal, grief, and silence… love still gets the last word.
Some of us are walking through Good Friday seasons — carrying loss, heartbreak, or doubt.
Some are sitting in the stillness of Holy Saturday — waiting, unsure, holding space between what was and what will be.
But Easter comes. Always.
The resurrection isn’t just about life after death — it’s about life after pain.
It’s the courage to believe that something beautiful can grow from ashes.
It’s the power to say, “I will rise,” even with scars.
It’s a radical hope that breaks chains, mends hearts, and reminds us we’re never alone.
Jesus didn’t rise to take us out of the world — He rose to transform us within it.
To call us into community.
To call us to justice.
To call us to love, fiercely and without fear.
So today, we don’t just celebrate a moment in history — we step into resurrection life.
One where grace is enough, light overcomes darkness, and nothing — absolutely nothing — is beyond redemption.
He is risen. He is risen, indeed.
If you’re holding pain today, you’re not forgotten.
If you’re celebrating, may joy overflow.
If you’re in between — waiting — may peace hold you.
This is the heart of Easter.
From brokenness to resurrection — together.

Easter Saturday. The silence of the tomb. The weight of grief. The waiting.

Today, we sit in the stillness between the sorrow of the cross and the glory of the resurrection. Imagine the confusion, the heartbreak the disciples felt. Their Savior crucified. Their hope seemingly gone.

But even in the silence, God was moving.
Even in the darkness, He was not done.

“They took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb. But God raised Him from the dead.” — Acts 13:29-30

Easter Saturday reminds us that the silence is not the end of the story.
Hold on, Sunday is coming.

Today is Good Friday… and our hearts are heavy, yet full of hope.

Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus hung on a cross — beaten, bleeding, and innocent — all because of love. Not a love we could ever earn, but a love so deep, so fierce, and so undeserved, that He gave everything to save us.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

Can you imagine that kind of love?
A love that looks at our brokenness and says, “You are worth dying for.”
A love that saw every failure, every mistake, every sin — and still chose the cross.

Jesus didn’t have to die. He chose to.
And not just for the world — but for you. For me.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13

Today we remember the pain, the sacrifice, the silence of the grave.
But we also remember what it means: freedom, forgiveness, and a love that death could not conquer.

Good Friday isn’t the end of the story. Sunday is coming. And because of Jesus, so is our hope.

Maundy Thursday: A Night of Love, Humility, and Reflection

Today marks a deeply meaningful moment in Holy Week—Maundy Thursday, the night Jesus shared His final meal with His disciples before the crucifixion. It’s a day filled with profound lessons on love, humility, and servanthood.

On this night, Jesus did something truly radical: He took the role of a servant and washed the feet of His disciples. In a time and culture where such a task was reserved for the lowliest, Jesus showed us that true greatness is found in humility. He then gave us a new commandment—“Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34).

This is also the night of the Last Supper, where Jesus broke bread and shared wine, symbolising His body and blood—a covenant of grace and sacrifice that we still remember and honor today through communion.

Maundy Thursday invites us to pause and reflect:

Are we living lives of humble service?
Are we loving others the way Christ has loved us—unconditionally, sacrificially?
Are we preparing our hearts for the depth of Good Friday and the hope of Easter?
As we enter into these sacred hours, may our hearts be stirred to serve, to forgive, and to love more deeply.

🌿Palm Sunday Through the Eyes of Our Youth 🌿

This Palm Sunday was something truly special. Our hearts were moved and spirits lifted as our incredible youth led us in a powerful, heartfelt service.
From the joyful waving of palms to the thoughtful reflections and moving worship, they brought the story of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem to life in such a beautiful way. Their passion, sincerity, and faith reminded us all of the deep meaning of this day—and of the bright future of our church.
Seeing the next generation lead us into Holy Week with such reverence and joy was a gift. We are so proud, so grateful, and so inspired.
Hosanna in the highest—blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

🌿🌿Palm Sunday: The Beginning of the Journey 🌿🌿
Today, we wave our palms and lift our voices, echoing the crowd that once cried, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”Palm Sunday marks the start of a sacred journey—the triumph before the trial, the celebration before the sacrifice.
As Jesus entered Jerusalem, riding humbly on a donkey, the world didn’t know what was coming. But He did. And still, He came.
Today, we welcome Him into our hearts once again. We honor His courage, His humility, and the love that carried Him forward.
Let us carry our palms not just in our hands, but in our hearts—as signs of peace, surrender, and deep trust in a love that never lets go.

As Holy Week Begins…

As we step into Holy Week, our hearts grow quiet. We are reminded that this is not just another week—it’s a sacred journey of love, sacrifice, and redemption. Together, we walk the path that leads to the cross, feeling the weight of sorrow, yet holding on to the hope that rises from it.

We remember the pain, the betrayal, the silence—but also the love that never wavered. A love that gave everything for us.

This week calls us to slow down, to reflect, to let our souls be stirred. It invites us to draw near to the heart of Christ and let His story reshape ours.

May we carry each moment of this week with reverence. May it soften us, change us, and remind us what it truly means to love and to be loved.

We don’t walk this path alone—He walks it with us.
