South Auckland Fijian AOG

South Auckland Fijian AOG South Auckland Fijian Assembly of God Over the years we have witnessed the tremendous move of God through steady growth in every aspect of our ministry.

Founded in August 1989, South Auckand Fijian Assembly of God (SAFAOG) is the name of our church that had held its first meeting at Hutton st, Otahuhu. Rev Vili Kolikata, was the first pastor with his family and had Michael Bogitini, Lepani Yavala and Eroni Dau as congregation members. What started as a regular prayer group in a flat at Hutton street, Otahuhu, steadily grew and now is a growing con

gregation that regularly use the local town hall for our Friday and Sunday meetings. In-spite of momentary turbulence, God has taught us to remain focused and be delighted with what we are called to do for Him and His glory. We now have eight different ethnicities as regular members and an increasing number friends who join us from time to time in our Sunday morning services. Three of our pioneer members and their families have now migrated overseas (USA, Australia & Fiji) in response to God’s call and the pioneer secretary (Eroni Dau) now serves as the senior pastor of SAFAOG. We thank God for all our friends who have contributed to the success and advancement of our ministry. We may not be in a position to mention your names, but our prayers are with you all.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit..."

Today, as joyful witnesses, we raise our hallelujah and we celebrate Jesus as this young man made the decision to respond to God's divine invitation by publicly declaring his faith in Christ through baptism.

All glory be to God for His marvellous work! ❤️🙌🙌

Praying you all have a wonderful Sunday worship tomorrow. God's grace be with you all.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— Psalm 103: 13-17

Luke 23:39-43 describes the event of Jesus and the two criminals beside him, nailed to their crosses, portraying what is known as the crucifixion.

One criminal hurls insults at Jesus and the other rebukes that criminal proclaiming that Jesus is underserving of this punishment He is receiving, "...this man has done nothing wrong" (Luke 23:41). He asks “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Let us learn to fear God with a heart of reverence for Him, to also confess our life to Him, as fragile and as broken or put together we may think we are. His love for us is so much so, that He would say, 'today you will be with me in paradise'.

Roman 6:8-10
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

Praise the LORD, for He is good and worthy of all praise.

Hallelujah, indeed He is risen!!

After Jesus rose from the dead, He spent a short time with His disciples before ascending to heaven.

Our Sr Pastor spoke from John 21, in one of these instances, we observe a conversation between the risen Christ and Peter also known as Simon son of John. Three times Jesus asks Peter this pivotal question of love, three times Peter affirms his love for Jesus and three times Jesus requests Peter to be a shepherd to His sheep.

The message of Christ's resurrection was not only a display of His love - It was also a call to action on our behalf as believers. A call-to-love.

Revisiting the greatest commandment, Christ spoke of in Matthew 22, to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and to love your neighbor as yourself, the resurrection can be seen as the ultimate masterclass of what it means to love God and humanity and furthermore, to follow Him! Teaching us to rejoice as we share in His suffering so that we may be overjoyed at the revealing of His glory.

John 21:18-19

'Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”'

As we endure to love God with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind (Matt 22), we are encouraged by our senior pastor through the epistle of Peter (2 Peter 1:5-7) that the act of love, is part of a process, it is a journey of faith. The apostle Peter reminds us that to forget how God has given us grace through Jesus Christ, is to be short-sighted and blind, forgetful even that we have been cleansed.

Verse 10-11 goes on to read, "Therefore, my brothers and sisters make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We must not compromise with the Word of God, a clear message by Ps Victor Morrison speaking from Revelation 2:12-17

The judgment of Christ is true, the judgment of Christ is thorough and we will be accounted for what we know with respect to what we’ve heard.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

26/03/2022

In Romans 12:9 we explore what it means to love God, love in action. Pastor shares that to truly love God, is to put our faith in Him and trust in His word, especially when fear and doubt come knocking because often we don't see or know what the future holds. Praise the Lord!

It is to hate what is evil and cling on to what is good!

God bless you all today - Join us this Sunday as we continue the sermon series on Life.
