Missed the talk on 17th May? Here it is for you!
We continue our series “God’s Purpose for Work & Rest.” In this sermon, Nathan McLellan explores how Jesus reframes and redeems rest, inviting us away from striving and into God’s gift of true Sabbath rest. We pray it speaks to you and brings encouragement and refreshment wherever you are today.

What a beautiful and historic day for St Margaret’s as we gathered together for our Pentecost Congregation Launch Service at Lynfield today.
Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude to God for the way He moved among us. The presence of God was truly in the room as people from the community, members of our church family, invited guests, local leaders, our local MP, Methodist Church leaders, and pastors from across the wider Church gathered together in worship and celebration.

It was such a joy to see so many people come together as ONE CHURCH as we launched this new congregation in Lynfield. Above all, we give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, who was lifted high throughout the service. We continue to pray with faith and expectation for all that God will do in the weeks and months ahead in this place.

A huge thank you to every single person who served so faithfully: our worship team, media, data and tech teams, service participants, setup crews, caterers, hosts, stewards, hospitality teams, our amazing young welcoming team, and all those who served both behind the scenes and upfront with such love, humility, and excellence.

Thank you also to the many people who came yesterday to help with setup, final preparations, cleaning, pack down, and tidy up. So many hands came together to serve, and we are deeply grateful for every one of you.

We especially want to acknowledge and continue praying for those who have stepped forward in faith to help build this new St Margaret’s Lynfield congregation. May God strengthen, guide, and uphold them as this new chapter begins.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who prayed, served, gave, invited, encouraged, and came along. This launch was not about one person, but about the whole church family coming together for the glory of God.

“To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:21

Sunday’s message from 3rd May is now available to listen again.
From our sermon series “God’s Purpose for Work & Rest”, the message“What is God’s Purpose for Rest?” by Emily Paterson is now available.

Through Exodus 20, Psalm 23, and Matthew 11, this message explores how biblical rest is more than simply stopping from work. It is an invitation from God to find renewal, peace, and trust in His presence. If you’ve been feeling weary, overwhelmed, or stretched thin, this message is a timely encouragement to slow down and rediscover the rest Jesus offers.

Have a listen and be encouraged, and feel free to share with someone who might need it too. St Margaret's Whanau

Missed Sunday’s message or want to listen again?
Last week’s message from our series “God’s Purpose for Work & Rest” is now available “How does Jesus Reframe and Redeem Work?” by Nathan McLellan.

This message looks at how Jesus changes the way we understand work, shifting it from pressure and striving to purpose, redemption, and hope. It’s a great reminder that our everyday work matters and can be shaped by God’s bigger story.

If you couldn’t join us on Sunday, or would like to reflect on it again, we invite you to have a listen and be encouraged. Feel free to share with someone who might be encouraged too.

We’re so excited to invite you to a very special moment in the life of our community!

St Margaret’s Lynfield is reopening, and we’d love for you to join us as we begin a new Sunday worship service together.
Sunday 24 May 2026, 9:00AM
35 The Avenue, Lynfield, Auckland

This is more than just a service; it’s a fresh start. A place to gather, connect, and encounter hope together. Whether you’ve been part of a church before or you’re simply curious, you are very welcome. Come as you are, and feel free to bring a friend or family member along.

This marks an exciting step toward our 2029 Vision: being one church across two locations with multiple congregations, growing together, reaching our community, and sharing the hope of Jesus.

After the service, we’ll enjoy some light refreshments, a chance to meet people, have a chat, and begin building community in this new season. We’d love to see you there as we step into this new chapter together.

Save the date and feel free to share this with someone who might like to come along.

Missed Sunday’s message or want to listen again?
We’ve just uploaded the first sermon in our new series, “God’s Purpose for Work & Rest”, “What’s God’s Purpose for Work?” by Nathan McLellan.
This message explores how our everyday work fits into God’s bigger story and why it truly matters. Whether you couldn’t make it on Sunday or would simply like to reflect on it again, we invite you to listen and be encouraged. Feel free to share with others who might be encouraged, too!

Due to Cyclone Vaianu and in line with Civil Defence advice to avoid travel, all Sunday services at St Margaret’s on 12 April are cancelled. We encourage everyone to stay safe, follow official guidance, and check in on friends, family, and neighbours, especially those who may need extra support. Although we won’t be gathering in person, this can still be a time to pause, reflect, and pray at home. Please stay safe and take care.
