Tēnā koutou e ngā mana, e ngā minita, me ngā reimana o Te Pihopatanga o Te Tai Tokerau,
This Monday, 2 September, Te Tai Tokerau iwi will be welcomed onto Tūrangawaewae Marae at 8:00 AM for the pōwhiri to pay respects to Kīngi Tūheitia. Bishop Kito will be joining Te Tai Tokerau iwi, and I encourage all from our churches to come together in a strong, united front to support him and Te Tai Tokerau iwi.
This is an important time for us to stand with Bishop Kito as we pay our respects to Kīngi Tūheitia and support the whānau pani. Your presence alongside our Bishop will be significant—a demonstration of our unity of purpose and aroha as we uphold our tikanga during this time of mourning.

As we come together to pay our respects to Kīngi Tūheitia and support the whānau pani, it's a time to reflect on our shared faith and the hope we hold. In life and in death, we belong to the Lord. As Scripture says:
"For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s."
Romans 14:8 (ESV)
Kia noho te Atua ki a koutou i tēnei wā o te pouri.
Hei konā mai,
Katene Eruera
Archdeacon, Te Tai Tokerau
