“He was in the water—with Peter. Within reaching distance.”

When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk toward Jesus Christ, he began with faith. But when he noticed the wind and waves, fear took over and he began to sink.

We can have moments like that too.

President Emily Belle Freeman reminds us that when we feel overwhelmed, Jesus Christ is not watching from a distance. He is near, ready to reach out to us when we need Him most.

On our best days and our worst days, we can keep walking with Him and trust that His strength is within reach.

Seminary is a place to learn and grow, but sometimes, it’s also a place to discover something new about the people closest to you. Hear from these siblings about what they’ve learned from attending seminary together, along with their advice for other youth.

Today we give thanks for fathers and father figures who lead with love, faith, and quiet sacrifice.

“The perfect, divine expression of fatherhood is our Heavenly Father.” — Elder D. Todd Christofferson

Their example can help children come to know and trust their Father in Heaven.
Happy Father’s Day.

“As you accept President Nelson’s invitation, you will discover, gather, and connect your family. Additionally, blessings will flow to you and your family like the river spoken of by Ezekiel. You will find healing for that which needs healing.”

— Elder Dale G. Renlund, “Family History and Temple Work: Sealing and Healing,” April 2018 General Conference.

Seminary can create opportunities to share your faith. For Antonio, seminary has helped him find confidence to share what he believes and testify of Jesus Christ with others.

What does it feel like to hear from an Apostle of the Lord? During a special Young Single Adult sacrament meeting in Auckland, New Zealand, Elder Gerrit W. Gong shared messages of love, faith and reaching out to others.

For some of the young adults who attended, the message was simple but powerful: don’t let anyone sit alone physically, emotionally or spiritually.

It’s an invitation that can apply wherever we are across the Pacific: to trust Heavenly Father more fully, notice someone who may need a friend, and help others feel the love of Jesus Christ.

What is one thing you can do this week to help someone feel seen, loved and closer to the Saviour? Share it below, then go and do it!

The Lord is hastening His work as new temples come to the Pacific.

As we participate in family history work and add what we know about our ancestors to FamilySearch — photos, videos, memories, journal entries and more — we help nourish the temple with names.

What could you add to FamilySearch today?

What are the blessings of Family History work, especially for young people?

Elder David A. Bednar promised that as young people participate in this work, their love and gratitude for their ancestors will increase, their testimony of and conversion to the Saviour will deepen, and they will be strengthened and protected throughout their lives.

His invitation is simple: learn, search, discover and help others do the same.
