Important Reminder for Those Intending to Offer Qurbani

The last day to cut hair or nails in New Zealand will be Monday 18th May 2026 before sunset for those intending to offer Qurbani.

Once the moon of Dhul Hijjah is sighted and the month begins, it is recommended for the person offering Qurbani not to cut their hair or nails until the Qurbani is done.

The Prophet SAW said: โ€œWhen the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah begin and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails until he has offered the sacrifice.โ€

Hujjaj farewell and Dua

Alhamdolillah, with the blessings of Allah SWT, The Seera Mawasim group guided by Ayesha Hajj and Umrah Services of 121 pilgrims will be departing for Hajj on Sunday, 17th May. In Shaa Allah, our hujjaj will begin their lifetime spiritual journey from the masjid with dua before departing to the airport.

Our brothers and sisters who are not going for Hajj are also welcome to attend the final dua, farewell the guests of Allah, and request them for dua. There are many virtues mentioned in the Hadith regarding meeting the hujjaj and requesting dua from them.

Please note that our final dua will be held only at Masjid Ayesha. There will be no final dua gathering at Auckland Airport in order to avoid large crowds and inconvenience to other travellers.

In Shaa Allah, the final dua program will be held on Sunday, 17th May at 3:30pm at Masjid Ayesha. Our hujjaj will then depart for Auckland Airport at 4:00pm to catch the evening Emirates flight to Jeddah.

May Allah SWT accept the Hajj of all our hujjaj and grant everyone the opportunity to visit His blessed house. Ameen.

New Masjid Ayesha Construction

Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah SWT and your duas, we have finally received the full resource consent for our new masjid project.

Our current Masjid Ayesha property was purchased in 2009, and with your continuous support, Alhamdulillah we managed to fully pay off Masjid Ayesha. During this journey, we also purchased 2 additional properties beside the masjid, and Alhamdulillah all are fully paid off.

Since 2009, Masjid Ayesha has been serving the Manurewa community through Quran Maktab classes, adult Quran classes, and many regular Islamic programmes and events. According to our records, approximately 400 students have attended our Maktab classes over the years. In Shaa Allah, all the rewards for this khidmat will continue to go towards everyone who has supported this cause as Sadaqah Jariyah.

In Shaa Allah, very soon we will be shifting our prayer area to our other property so that all daily activities can continue operating while the current masjid building is demolished and the construction of the new masjid begins for our community and future generations.

Alhamdulillah, we once again look forward to your support for this great cause, just as you have always supported us in the past.

In Shaa Allah, tonight after Maghrib we will be having a mashoora at Masjid Ayesha regarding this project. We warmly invite everyone to come together and be part of this new journey for our upcoming generation.
