Shaping the Future at Hato Petera
The Te Waka o Hato Pētera Wāwahi Ara Board has launched a Preliminary Indication of Interest (PII) process to shape the future use of the Hato Pētera site in Northcote.
Organisations are invited to submit high-level proposals that deliver strong community outcomes alongside the Māori Catholic mission of the site.
Chair Helen Te Hira said the Board is seeking credible, high-impact ideas.
“This is a call for proposals that can activate Hato Pētera with purpose and deliver lasting benefit. We’re looking for capability, vision and a commitment to getting it right.”

TE WIKI O TE REO MĀORI celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Aotearoa celebrated its first Māori Language Day in 1972, following a petition signed by more than 30,000 people calling for te reo Māori to be taught in schools.

By 1975, the day had grown into a week-long event, and since then Te Wiki o te reo Māori has become one of the most recognised public celebrations and nationwide movements in the country.

This year, lets strengthen the reo especially through our faith. Kia kaha te reo, kia kaha te whakapono!
