A huge thank you to everyone who came along yesterday! It was great to see people from across our community coming together, getting their hands dirty and making a real difference.

Together we cleaned up the creek and even moved on to another area – filling quite a few FlexiBins, finding plenty of unexpected “treasures”, and pulling three shopping trolleys out of the creek! 🛒😁

We finished dirty, sweaty and proud – leaving our local waterways a little better than we found them. 💚

A special thank you to Paul Wilton, who led the event and took care of the site, equipment and all the coordination that made the day possible.

Amazing work everyone – see you at the next Reverse Tashlich!

Beth Shalom Hiking Club – Long Bay!

Last Sunday we had a great and diverse group join us for a three-hour hike at Long Bay!

A bit of wind and even a rain shower towards the end didn’t stop us 🌧️ On the way back, the tide was low, so we headed down to the beach and finished the walk along the coast 🌊

Beth Shalom belongs to Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga, an alliance of civic organisations in Auckland that works for the public good. This year, Te Ohu has focused its attention on health care, a system that impacts all of us – patients, families, and workers.

You are invited to join Rabbi Dean Shapiro and well over five hundred people from all walks of life in presenting four “asks” to the leaders of NZ’s political parties. They will attend in person, give answers, and speak about their visions for keeping Kiwis – and our healthcare system – healthy.
