Dear Friends,
As you will be aware, Cyclone Vaianu is making its way towards New Zealand and is due to make landfall on Sunday 12th April.
The Met Service and Civil Defence NZ have issued multiple warnings and have now issued an orange warning for both rain and wind in our area.
Under this warning level, the advice is for people to take action and be prepared. This means making preparations to have enough supplies in the event that power supply is disrupted, as well as adequate drinking water available. Unnecessary travel should be avoided.
To read more about how you can prepare, please visit https://www.civildefence.govt.nz/
Therefore, following on from these recommendations and acting out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to cancel our services on Sunday the 12th April at both St Chad's and Holy Trinity.
Please take care everyone. Check in on each other and please pray for our first responders and emergency workers who will be in action around our country.
Blessings to you all,
Alex Rose-Stewart
Vicar Hibiscus Coast Anglican Parish
