Mangere East Samoan Catholic Community (MESCC) provides spiritual, cultural and practical support to more than three hundred men, women, and children each year through its range of services. Establised in 1970, MESCC still works in accordance with its original mission: to build outstanding and resilient people of faith. MESCC's network of services is supported by a committed council of thirty two
matafale (families). The community provides five key services: junior youth, Sunday school, council, womens committee, and choir. The population of MESCC is youthful with over one hundred and fifity members under the age of 30. The Pacific Community as has a median age of 22.1, sixteen years younger than the median age of the New Zealand population (Statistics New Zealand, 2014). MESCC believes in empowering the youth through their cultural identity
