Table Talk on Healthcare | Wednesday 22 April 6:30pm in the Upper Hall | Come along for an evening of fellowship and storytelling.

We are joining together with St Lukes Remuera, St Matthew's-in-the-City, and Beth Shalom synagogue to offer several table talks in our part of Auckland.

Why? We hear lots in the media about our overburdened and underfunded health and care systems. But the issues are often talked about in the abstract. The table talk is designed to build connection, community and trust among people. Over the next few weeks, table talks will be happening all around the city. They will be used to develop concrete goals for how our health & care systems might be improved for the benefit of all.

All welcome.

We warmly invite you to our special Harvest Service at ⭐5pm⭐ this Sunday. We are gathering later in the day due to the congestion and parking scarcity caused by Round the Bays. You’re encouraged to bring an item for the foodbank or some fresh produce from the garden. The service will be followed (for those who would like) by a dinner together at Everybody Eats Glen Innes (133 Line Rd). We will deliver our fresh produce there.

This week in Children’s Ministry we explored Jesus’ very first miracle at the wedding in Cana (John 2:1–11), where He turned water into wine. After Ola's wonderful retelling in the All Age Address last week we were excited to explore it further and kick off our Jesus' Miracle Series.

As part of our session, we created our own wedding scene and water to 'wine' demo and we explored one of the key messages from this passage - that Jesus cares about both the big and the little things in our lives. The wedding running out of wine may not have seemed like a huge crisis to everyone but it mattered to the people involved, and it mattered to Jesus.

We talked about how we can trust Jesus with the things that feel big, overwhelming, or scary and also with the small, personal things that are important to us. Nothing is too small or too ordinary for Him - wow! Next week's service is at 5pm and Children's Ministry will be on for those children that will be joining us.

In Children’s Ministry we have begun our 40-day journey through Lent as we prepare our hearts for Easter. We spent time talking about what Lent means and how it's a season to slow down, reflect, pray, show kindness and draw closer to Jesus.

Each child has received a 40-day Lent tracker with simple daily actions such as acts of kindness, prayer moments, helping at home, and opportunities to say sorry and grow. Our hope is that these small, daily practices help form big hearts and create daily talking points focused on Jesus in our families.

As part of our exploration, the children also created some beautiful artworks reflecting on the difference between worldly treasures and heavenly treasures. We talked about how the things we can buy or collect don’t last forever, but love, kindness, faith, and following Jesus are treasures that last for eternity. The artwork was thoughtful, creative, and full of deep insight.
Over the coming weeks, we will continue to journey toward the cross with intentional hearts, helping our tamariki understand that Lent isn’t just about giving something up, it’s about making more room for Jesus.
