Across Auckland, incredible organisations and food banks are working tirelessly to support families struggling to put food on the table. At the same time, churches have a genuine heart to help but don't always have the resources or capacity to run their own food programmes.

What if we could bring these two together?
That's the conversation we want to have with you!

Join us THIS WEDNESDAY for our Local Churches and Kai Security Hui, where we'll explore practical, achievable ways for churches and community organisations to work together to make a greater difference.

Attention churches and schools - looking for a fun project for kids? Check out the Gift of Christmas Art Competition!

We're inviting amateur artists to explore the true meaning of Christmas through art.

The winner will get to dress up and join the Nativity float with their family at the Auckland Farmers Santa Parade on 29 November 2026!

Entries close November 20. You must be aged 7+ to join the float.

You're warmly invited to join a Church Planters information night. Over dinner, we'll hear from experienced & new church planters as they share the calling, context & cost of planting a church.

Come along to be informed, encouraged & meet like-minded people. If you feel a stirring from God to be involved at some point in church planting, this is a night for you!

In 2025, Christians from across Auckland came together to design, build and enter a Nativity float in the Auckland Farmers Santa Parade, bringing the gift of Jesus back to New Zealand's largest Christmas parade.

And we're doing it again, with your help.

As well as raising money to enter the float into the parade, we're excited to announce we're partnering with Rhema to run an art competition to creatively show the true meaning of Christmas.

Amateur artists of any age and skill level across Aotearoa are invited to reconnect Christmas traditions with their origins and reimagine the nativity scene in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Pōhutukawa, jandals, pavlova, gumboots, sheep.

What would the wise men bring? What would the 'inn' be?

A painting, a sculpture, a dance, a poem, or anything else that counts as art is welcome.

🎁 The overall winner's family will get to dress up and be part of the Nativity float in the 2026 Auckland Farmers Santa Parade!

🎨 To enter, create your artwork and submit it to the form on the ACN website along with the idea behind it.

Entries close November 25.

🥫 NORTH SHORE WINTER FOOD DRIVE 2026 — THANK YOU! 💚

What an incredible collective effort!

The 2026 North Shore Winter Food Drive has been a great success, and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, collected, promoted, transported and distributed food and essential items across our community.

With 18 organisations participating, it’s difficult to fully quantify the impact we have made together.

But here’s a glimpse of SOME of the impact we know about (based on information that has been provided to us) from the following organisations:

• St Georges Church Takapuna
• Devonport Community House
• Grace Church Greenhithe
• Doxa Deo Auckland Community Church
• North Harbour Business Association
• Windsor Park Baptist Church
• The Salvation Army Glenfield Community Ministries

🚚 934kg of food donated through collections picked up by KiwiHarvest
🍽️ 2009 meal equivalents
💚 $7,614 of social good
🧴 207kg of non-food essentials, including cleaning products and toiletries

And there’s more! The Salvation Army Glenfield Community Ministries separately collected and distributed another 30kg of non-perishable food and 10kg of non-food essentials.

These aren't just numbers. Behind every kilogram donated are people and whānau across the North Shore receiving practical support from their community.

A special thank you to our key partners, the North Shore Food Security Network and KiwiHarvest, and to all the churches, community organisations, businesses, volunteers and individuals who got behind this year's drive.

This is what can happen when we work together for the good of our neighbourhoods. ❤️

"The drive, organised in collaboration with the Food Security Network and Auckland Church Network, has 16 collection points across the North Shore."

"The drive is supported by Kiwi Harvest, which collects donations and distributes them across the Shore’s food banks".

"St George’s parish administrator Flo Hunt says the drive at the church is going well. 'Each week the members of the church bring something on a Sunday'.”

“The North Shore has a perception of being ‘well off’, but we have beneficiaries in every corner, including people in Devonport, Belmont, Hauraki and Bayswater,” says Good Works Trust general manager Sophie Gray".

"The lunch kits are vital for families, especially in an area where few schools benefit from the government school lunch programme, Gray says".
