Happy New Year Team🎉🎈 Sending you love and prayers as we enter 2023 together!
Yesterday my fiance and I did a study and I thought I'd share and encourage you with what we discussed and the direction we were led too. We were talking about money and what the Bible says about it.
✨1Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows
As we work towards our wedding date (I can now say this year 🥹), we both ask God to guide us in making sensible decisions daily. At the start of the New Year many people state resolutions or goals, things they'd like to attain or gain in the year ahead. Often money is needed to reach these things, which requires both hard work and sacrificing time away from one another to build up funds. For us it's been almost 5 years of trusting, praying and working on this together 🫸🫷
Along the journey though to get to any point of perceived 'happiness', unwittingly we may become discontent if we don't get these things when or in the way we want. We might become greedy, seeking after more money, more 'things' and we may lose sight and perspective on what we already have, what has been provided and what God wants our attention focused on.
✨ God in his word tells us....
6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
❤️ It goes on to say to have food and clothing is enough.
A gentle reminder came through this study reminding us that 2023 isnt about personal gain but is a renewed opportunity for true spiritual growth as we seek FIRST the Kingdom of God not the riches of this temporary world. This doesn't cost a thing except our dedicated time in being attuned to the propmtings and desires of our heart to seek Him and to have a real relationship with the one who gave us life🌻
