Let us pray: 🕊️
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon her.

World Day of Prayer takes place tomorrow. It is a long‑standing international ecumenical movement welcoming all Christians to unite in prayer. Each year, people from different Christian denominations gather in churches around the world to celebrate using a Worship Service created by women from a different country. The movement began in the United States in 1887 and has since grown to include more than 180 countries and regions. A list of this year’s local services — including a number being hosted by Catholic parishes — is available here:

“Stability and peace are not built with mutual threats, nor with weapons, which sow destruction, pain, and death, but only through a reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue,” Pope Leo XIV said at the recitation of the Angelus on Sunday.

The Holy Father warned of the horror that could come if the violence escalates out of control.

“Faced with the possibility of a tragedy of enormous proportions, I address to the parties involved a heartfelt appeal to assume the moral responsibility to stop the spiral of violence before it becomes an irreparable abyss!”
