Tamang LTC Monastery
Tamang LTC Monastery is a non-profit organization devoted to education, social services, and spiritual development for the community. It is registered with the government of Nepal under No. 59662/065/066. Tamang LTC Monastery is in the Lalitpur District, about 50 kilometers southeast of Kathmandu. It is at an altitude of 2072 feet, in the Batase Danda neighborhood of Kaleswor
village. There are several ways to reach the Monastery from Kathmandu. The easiest way is by taxi directly to the Monastery at a cost of $70USD. Or take shared jeep from Chapagaun, which is 15k south of Kathmandu. These jeeps depart daily between 11:00am and 2:00pm at a cost of $2. The trip takes approximately 4 hours and passes through the villages of Lele, Bhardeu, Chaughare, Thotne Khola, Khor Bhanjyang and on to the Monastery at Batase Danda. Once at the Monastery, you can take in fresh air and enjoy the beautiful Himalayan environment surrounded by green pastures and high mountain peaks. You will feel peace and be in harmony with nature. Thanks to the donations and goodwill of many people construction is in progress. Our aim is to provide a hospital, elderly care, and a school for general studies and Buddhist philosophy. We especially want to provide these services to the underprivileged and those in need. The dormitory block has been completed and finishing works of inside are running. Objective of the Monastery
To provide Buddhist and general education studies to all natives and foreigners who have faith in the Buddhist religion. To organize various speeches, assemblies, seminars, gatherings and meditation classes by experienced Buddhist teachers. To help in development and preservation of Buddhist religion and culture. To provide food, lodging, clothing and medical treatment to all those who live in the Monastery. To provide medical treatment to the natives and the underprivileged. To provide food, lodging and nursing to senior citizens who are remaining in the Monastery.
