The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God created man, and that He created him for His glory (Isaiah 43:7). Therefore, the ultimate purpose of man, according to the Bible, is simply to glorify God.
How then do we Glorify God? Jesus shows us the answer in John 17:4-7 as He reveals how He lived His life as a man, the very purpose of His being. It says;
4 I have glorified You on the earth.
I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
You had no pleasure.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’”
Jesus is the epitome for our likeness. Therefore this should be at the very heart of our being! The main purpose for us being saved. For we should no longer live our life for our own. Even our body now belongs to Jesus and being a follower of Jesus, we are to do as He did. When you really think about, when you seek the Word of God and search your soul praying to see things through the eyes of God, you'll know and understand that God has put you in this His chosen moment of time in history, not by accident but that He appointed you to be at the right place, the right time, on the exact moment for your being in a certain place, because you are there to be His ambassador, His shining beacon of Light in darkness, to be the Salt that would perk-up the flavor to wake up the senses, providing the main difference to do His Will that would make an eternal impact to the very lives in your sphere of influence. And not only could it change others forever, but it also to change you to be His loving and effective servant.
PRAYER
Father we thank You for this time. A time when we are able to learn to grow deeper in knowing You, to better understand Your heart and Your purpose for our life. Forgive us for our sins and for our tendency to take the beauty of Thy Word for granted as we read Thy scriptures. Help us never to miss-out on the basic but very important teachings hidden in Your Word. Help us to savor sweetly and completely each delicate part of Your Word, for these basic things makes up the very foundation of our faith in You. Please give us the eyes to see and ears to hear Thy Word clearly. Holy Spirit, we humbly ask the You may fill our soul by clearly speaking unto our heart and mind, etching Thy Words unto our hearts that we may live it, savor and digest it, rejoice in it, so we may be able to "Do Your Will O God" and glorify Thee. We lovingly ask all these things in Jesus Christ name. Amen!
Blessed be God forever!
