It is said that Tokha valley is also associated with many cultural aspects, some of proofs to support is still in existence. From the sculpture found in the valley it came to know that existence of Tokha Valley is even earlier than the Lichhavi Dynasty 1. Though the sculpture explained all the state of Tokha valley, it is found that no any political importance is signpost 2. But word 'Gulma' repea
tedly used in that sculpture which is still not clearly identified, that what it supposed to indicate. It is assumed that the word Gulma may also supposed to indicate as 'Police Station' (3 and 4) according to a Historian. Jagdish Chandra Regmi the word Gulma refers to the governmental offices then. This word precisely explains or indicates the troops to maintain peace and security 5. But there is no such a precise name of Gulma in tokha like 'Sheetal Gulma' of Basanta Dev's Aadi Narayan sculpture at Thankot, similarly in another sculpture also 'Agni Gulma' is listed in patan. That’s why there are no such strong proofs to support that there is any such name of the troops to call during Lichhavi Dynasty in Tokha. Though those sculptures didn’t give any name to the Gulma, there are two words repeated time and again in that sculpture are 'Tilmak' and 'Tilmak Sangam'. Repeating of those words strongly supports that Tokha is popularly known as Agricultural Valley then. It is found that this sculpture was built on B.S 519 but according to Mr Tek Bahadur Shrestha it was B.S 591. According to this sculpture it is clear that Tokha had been a residential area before Lichhavi Dynasty ruled here. On that sculpture a message to governmental personnel's is also carved saying "Don’t even embarrass, harass, discomfort and hurt Tokhali". This shows the Tokha as Historically important place.
