Monastic Rainy Season Retreat (Yarney) โ€“ 2026
July 29 - September 10

Yesterday, on the auspicious full moon day, the nuns at Nagi Nunnery commenced their Rainy Season Retreat with many prayers, pure aspirations, and by circumambulating the nunnery. Today, the nuns perform the Tsok puja (Thukdrub Trinley Nyingpo) and they will continue this perform this puja every day until the last day of Yarney. This morning they also opened the volumes of Collected Words of the Buddha (Kangyur), and each read the first page. Throughout the Yarney period, the nuns will read the volumes in a group in the main temple and will conclude in 3 weeks.

May the virtue of anyone who rejoices in this auspicious activity be dedicated to the Enlightenment of all sentient beings.

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Chรถkhor Dรผchen (the Festival of the Buddhaโ€™s Turning of the Wheel of the Dharma), we commemorate ลšฤkyamuni Buddhaโ€™s first teaching on "The Four Noble Truth" which is the foundational belief system of Buddhism.

At Nagi Nunnery nuns and lay practitioners gathered to perform the Sampa Lhรผndrub Pลซjฤ, invoking the blessings of Guru Rinpoche to spontaneously fulfill all wishes.
