In November 2023, we welcomed Songhui into our Enquan Yuan family. Upon arrival, Songhui underwent a medical assessment, which revealed severe malnutrition. During the day, Songhui's mental state was poor, often drowsy, with very little active communication or verbal expression.
After nearly two months of ICC's careful care, Songhui's weight increased from 12kg to 17.2kg. Her medication was adjusted and our staff developed a customised therapy and special education plan for her. She grew healthier and stronger every day.
Now, almost two years later, Songhui is happy and joyous, full of energy. She smiles often, and has a great sense of curiosity, eagerly interacting with and observing her surroundings each day. When she interacts with others, she makes eye contact. During class, when the teacher plays music, she will sway her body to the rhythm or hum along. She has a great interest in music. While her journey has not always been easy, ICC has been with her every step of the way.
