Aliens In Amsterdam

Aliens In Amsterdam We're just a handful of Idahoans spending some time in Amsterdam, sharing the love of Jesus So, we're strangers or aliens in two different senses.

"I have been an alien in a strange land"
- Exodus 18:3

Moses spoke these words to describe his relationship to the land of Midian where he had lived as a foreigner for forty years, but they carried with them a deeper meaning that could be applied to all of God's people. We are strangers and aliens in a world that we do not understand and which doesn't understand us. We are citizens of the Kingdom

of Heaven and under the authority of the only true King, Jesus Christ. Because of this, we are truly strangers and aliens in any land or country that we happen to be in. Additionally, we are a group of Christians from Boise, Idaho who are going to Amsterdam in the hopes that God will create opportunities for us to share the good news of Jesus to the people of Amsterdam. "These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. "

Friends and Fellow Aliens, I just found out about Jimmy Goodman's passing. Below are details for his memorial next month in Boise. Amsterdam was Jimmy's first mission trip and though it's been several years since the memories are still fresh. He will be missed. But thanks be to God for seeking out Jimmy's heart of gold!

The memorial will be held at Calvary Chapel Boise Saturday September 3rd at 10am.

If you are feeling led to give or donate in any way there are three ways you can do so.
1) sending flowers, please have them sent to the church the day before the memorial.

3) Jimmy D. Goodman was involved in missions in Germany and it was one of his favorite adventures and always wanted to go back. You can give directly to this ministry at the churches website or call the church for more info on how to give to this missions work.
