Message title:
*Opening of Our Eyes of Faith*
Anchor scripture:
2 kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
One of the highest spiritual gifts is the opening of our eyes of faith. Many of us are confused in the faith while others simply copy from others. Others are in so much darkness of what will happen next; others cannot even tell what is happening around them.
The fear of the enemy and uncertainty is what has crowded their minds. All this is a result of the closure of their eyes of faith.
_*If we must ask for anything from the Lord, it should be the opening of the our eyes of our faith.*_
What is the *Eyes of Faith* all about? It is the opening of one's spiritual eyes to see and know God's opinion about themselves and what is happening around them. This is totally different from the gift of prophecy.
Because of the lack of this spiritual gift, many of us are fighting without but filled with so much fear within.
Many of us confess Jesus outwardly but inwardly we are filled with fear, while others shout, "AMEN I am healed, I am blessed and saved, I am delivered." All these confessions are made outwardly but right within them, there are so much worries and doubts crowding their mind.
2 Kings 6:10-17 reads,
So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.
This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?”
None of us, my lord the king said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”
Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.” Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
I leave you with this word, not I but the Lord:
Are you serving God with the eyes of your faith open? If not, I pray the Lord opens your eyes of faith as He did to Elisha's servant.
Shalom and stay blessed.
*Happy Sunday.*
