🎬 MOVIE REVIEW: The Light of the World
I'm a Christian movie fan, but…
I really had my own standards and expectations to be entertained by a 2D animated Christian movie since I’ve already watched 'The Prince of Egypt' and 'Joseph King of Dreams' countless times, and have seen many Christian films and series about the life of Jesus. I honestly expected a familiar story and the same narrative once again.
But 'The Light of the World' gave me a completely different point of view. It surprised me in the best way — and honestly, something changed in me after watching it.
Kudos to the writers for doing an incredible job! The story’s structure and style of storytelling were not just for kids but also deeply relatable for adults like me. As someone who’s striving in both life and ministry, I could really see myself in each of the characters. Their message was piercing, realistic, and relevant to modern Christian life. The sequence of events was direct and clear, and the punchlines were original, witty, and hilarious — it was brilliantly written!
The animation was also impressive. The emotions in the characters’ eyes were genuine and believable. The facial expressions, hair movements, gestures, and body language were convincing. The background setup, visuals, and lighting perfectly captured the mood and kept my attention. The voice acting was spot-on. They truly chose the right people for each role.
Throughout the movie, I laughed many times, got emotional, and even shed a few tears — both from joy and from the powerful, heartfelt moments. I was completely entertained!
After watching, I found myself reflecting deeply on my relationship with God. Every character was relatable — whether you’re a believer or not. You could see yourself in them, whether as a leader, pastor, professional, or young person. The film helps you appreciate Jesus as a person even more and understand the people around Him — and His disciples — on a deeper level. You’ll walk away with a renewed understanding of the Gospel and a refreshed faith.
If you’re looking for a movie that will strengthen your relationship with God and entertain you at the same time, The Light of the World is definitely for you, your family, your friends, and anyone you want to share the Gospel with.
