This evening, at sunset, Yom Teruah—the Day of Trumpets—begins. It is one of the autumn festivals we will be discussing on Sunday mornings over the coming weeks. This day is also known as Rosh Hashanah, the start of the Jewish New Year. Lead Pastor Sebastiaan van Wessem wrote an interesting blog post about it.

Yom Teruah is more than a prophetic picture of the coming King. Throughout Scripture, the trumpet gathers God's people, calls them forward and declares that God remembers his covenant. From Israel in the wilderness to the final resurrection, its message remains: God has not forgotten. Be ready.
