Shining examples of faith… our theme for this year’s International Services may feel both inspiring and intimidating. What if your faith feels fragile? What if you are overwhelmed by doubt or you sometimes want to scream it out to God? Then you have come to the right place.

Tomorrow the 1st of June reverend Pieter Versloot and Charles Christian will talk about Saul’s/Paul’s own transformation in meeting with the Risen Christ, whom he had neither fully known nor understood. How Paul then came to understand how his own weaknesses opened him far more to the strength of Christ and that despite any suffering, the trustworthy hope and deep love of God can sustain us though whatever difficulties we face.

Do you want to know more? Welcome to join us tomorrow the 1st of June for the International Worship Service in the Martinikerk at 5PM. There will also be a free light meal after the service.
With music from Johan Smit on the organ.

Tomorrow the 6th of April reverend Sam van Leer and Tirtsa Liefting will talk about Martha and Mary, how Martha continues to serve and Mary continues to worship, both living their faith in vital ways, also in the face of Judas’ critique. How need we and can we continue to pour ourselves out in faith?

JOB

Shining examples of faith… our theme for this year’s International Services may feel both inspiring and intimidating. What if your faith feels fragile? What if you are overwhelmed by doubt or you sometimes want to scream it out to God? Then you have come to the right place.

Job shows that doubts and questions, can actually be part of our faith. While his friends show us that it’s sometimes better to not know and stay silent, rather than feeling the need to have or provide answers.

Do you want to know more? Welcome to join us this Sunday for the International Worship Service in the Martinikerk at 5PM.

Coming Sunday the 3rd of November there will be an international service in the Martini Church. The service starts at 17:00 (5pm). After the service you are welcome to join us for a free light meal in the chapel at the back of the church.

We are glad to welcome you to this English language service organized by the international churches and Martinikerk Groningen together. This service is held every first Sunday of the month.
This service has as three purposes.
1) to be a welcoming place for new internationals in the city.
2) to strengthen the bonds between the international Christian communities in the city.
3) to allow the local Dutch communities and the international communities to encounter one another and to be inspired by one another.

Hopefully we will see there, God be with you!

You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16 (NIV)

Hello!

Here at Martini Church we love welcoming in new people. Our services are open to everyone and there is no need to be a christian or regular church-goer to attend. Every first Sunday of the month our doors open at 4.30pm for coffee and tea followed by a service in English at 5pm and a meal. Every time we meet people who simply come along and give church a go. If you'd like any more information about trying church for the first time or getting back to church after a while off please do get in touch! We'd love to meet you!

This is a joint initiative between the Martini Church congregation of the Protestant Church in Groningen and Grace Church, the Groningen Anglican Church. Together we want to celebrate the love of God and the Good News for the world that we have encountered in Jesus Christ. It is also an occasion to experience the many dimensions of the love of God, across all cultures.

If you are an international in Groningen and looking for a Christian community or if you are looking for a place to explore the Christian faith in more depth or simply to socialize with both internationals and locals, we would like to point you to the following websites:
