BIRTHDAY REFLECTIONS
Today is my birthday. I am therefore thanking God for another year. I thank God also for some of you who have been part of my journey.
As I meditate on this new age, I wish to share a few reflections with you:
Celebrating our birthdays makes us wiser (Psalm 90:12).
Part of this wisdom is knowing that we have a limited time to earth, engineering the necessity to live a life that aligns with Godβs eternal purposes.
Another facet of this wisdom is in knowing that every new year comes with a new season - a new shift. We must each identify this shift! Some things should be left behind, while others must be embraced , thereby appropriating the season.
The third caveat in this journey is posterity. Building strong values in our families and children through structures that will last for generations to come, in a world that is increasingly decaying in Godly values.
I am counting on God for wisdom to face the challenges of the next season of my life. Without God, my efforts are futile and life has no meaning. With God, my options are limitless and my future is secured.
The last nugget I will share today is that, life in essence is ephemeral. Life in God is however eternal! We must live with the consciousness that we are pilgrims in this world. Irrespective of what we are, what we would become or ever achieve, we are βhiredβ landlords on earth. When our time is up, we will leave everything behind one day and stand before our creator.
Join me in thanking God for the gift of a new year!
