⚡️As a new U.S.–Iran agreement comes into effect, many are hoping it will reduce violence across the region, including in Lebanon.

⏸️ For ordinary people, any pause in conflict is good news. It may allow displaced families to return home, communities to recover, and churches to serve with less immediate fear. Yet deeper questions remain about sovereignty, security, and whether lasting peace is truly possible.

👉 In a new reflection from Lebanon, we consider what this moment means for the country, for the Church, and for those still living with uncertainty.

🙏 Please continue to pray for the displaced, for churches serving under pressure, and for a peace that is more than a temporary pause in violence.

🫶WORLD REFUGEE DAY🫶

On World Refugee Day, we join Christians around the world in prayer for migrants, refugees, and all who have been displaced from their homes. May God give us compassion, wisdom, and courage to welcome the stranger and seek justice for all.

Prayers by Marian Pallister and Inderjit Bhogal (prayers offered by CCME)

📖 Refugee Week Stories | Story 2

What happens when we stop seeing statistics and start seeing people?

In this Refugee Week reflection, Juliet Kilpin challenges us to consider the lives behind the headlines and to hear again Jesus' words:

"I was a stranger and you invited me in."

As churches across the EBF region continue to welcome, support, and advocate for displaced people, we are reminded that Christian hospitality is not merely an act of kindness—it is a response to Christ himself.

💭 How do we recognise Christ in those seeking safety today?

📖 Refugee Week Stories | Story 1

When Ukrainian families displaced by war arrived in London, they longed for fellowship and worship in their own language.

What began as a small home Bible study among two families has grown into The Way, a Ukrainian Baptist congregation meeting within Broadmead Baptist Church. Along the way, new believers have come to faith, people have been baptised, and a new community has taken root.

This story reminds us that hospitality is more than providing space—it is creating room for people to belong, grow, and flourish.

💭 Has your church welcomed a new community recently?

The EBF team is gathering in Tallinn for our staff retreat. While we’re grateful to be together, we are unfortunately missing César, who is undergoing kidney stone removal surgery this morning.

Alan did his best to make sure César was still part of the team photo! 😊

Please join us in praying for a successful operation, skilled medical care, and a swift, smooth recovery. We look forward to having him back with us soon. 🙏

PRAYER CALENDAR | EGYPT, BAHRAIN

🇪🇬 EGYPT

🙏 Pray for religious freedom in Egypt, that government leaders and faith communities would work together to uphold the rights and dignity of every citizen.

🙏 Pray for peace and understanding among different religious communities, that God would raise up bridge-builders and help all people to "seek peace and pursue it" (Psalm 34:14).

🙏 Pray for the 28 Baptist churches in Egypt and for President Khalaf Barsum, that God would bless their ministry, strengthen their witness, and guide them in the vision God has given them.

🇧🇭 BAHRAIN

Bahrain has faced Iranian missile and drone attacks since the beginning of the war. Sirens are heard daily, and strikes have affected military bases as well as universities, hotels, residential areas, water facilities, fuel depots, and a major oil refinery.

Daily life has been disrupted. Schools and many workplaces moved online, businesses continue to struggle, and airport closures forced the country to rely on the causeway with Saudi Arabia for essential supplies.

Churches also moved online for several weeks due to safety recommendations. Believers gathered virtually for worship and prayer, supporting one another. When public gatherings resumed, churches held prayer and worship nights for families and the wider community.

The church has also participated in relief efforts, supporting families, individuals, and expatriate workers affected by the war.

Please join us in prayer:

🙏 Pray for the Lord's protection over Bahrain and its people.

🙏 Pray for wisdom and guidance for church leaders as they navigate this crisis.

🙏 Pray for the church's mission to bring hope, support those in need, and share the gospel of peace.

🙏 Pray for the war to end, that bloodshed and destruction would cease, and that nations across the region may rebuild and live in peace once again.

We trust that the Lord of Peace is the answer to the conflicts in our region.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
