PRAYER CALENDAR | MALTA

🙏 Pray for deep, cross-cultural unity within the Christian communities of Malta. In these last years, we have had a heavy influx of foreign workers, and this has put a strain on our infrastructure, but it has also put a strain on our evangelical churches as our numbers swelled and most churches now have more foreign members than Maltese! This has also led to several changing their language to English.

🙏 Malta has been a bastion for the unborn, as the only European country where abortion is still illegal. Pray for us, as there has been heavy lobbying to change this.

🙏 There are 4 Baptist churches; pray that there will be more cooperation and fellowship between them.

🇳🇴 Pray for Norway

As Norway mourns the passing of King Harald V, we invite the EBF family to join our Norwegian brothers and sisters in prayer.

May God bring comfort to the Royal Family and all who grieve, and may the churches be a presence of hope and peace in this time of national mourning.

🙏 Lord, be near to Norway.

🌱CHURCH PLANTING STORIES: POLAND 🇵🇱
Sometimes church planting looks like a man walking through the doors of a young church because he has reached a point where he knows he needs God.

That is part of A.’s story.

After the breakdown of his marriage and separation from his three children, he began searching for a church. Today, he is growing in faith and preparing for baptism—and there are signs of restoration within his family too.🙏

And his story is not happening in isolation.

Across Poland, church planters are serving refugees and migrants, discipling new believers, reaching young people and prayerfully looking toward communities where new churches could be planted.

PRAYER CALENDAR | ITALY

🙏 Please pray for our churches, that we may continue to grow as welcoming and inclusive communities, able to live with differences while remaining united in Christ.

🙏 Pray especially for our international and intercultural churches. Many of our communities bring together people from different countries, cultures and Christian backgrounds. Pray that this diversity may increasingly become a gift for our common mission.

🙏 Please pray for the younger and second generations, especially those growing up between different cultures, that they may find their place, their voice and opportunities to serve and lead within our churches.

🙏 Pray for the development of new leaders and ministries, and for wisdom as we seek new ways of being church and sharing the Gospel in the changing Italian context.

🙏 And please pray that our churches may continue to be a faithful and courageous Christian presence in Italian society, especially alongside people who experience exclusion, discrimination, poverty or migration.

PRAYER CALENDAR | IRELAND

We are grateful for the prayers of the EBF family for the gospel witness of Baptist churches in Ireland. “May His Kingdom come and His will be done.”

IBN greatly values our partnership across Europe and the Middle East.

🙏 Pray that we can continue to support our brothers and sisters, especially in Ukraine, Lebanon, and the wider Middle East.

🙏 Pray for the changes to our structures and organisation that we will be making later this year, in close cooperation with the EBF.

🙏 Give thanks for a recent mission trip to Bulgaria, which enabled us to see both the opportunities and challenges our brothers and sisters face as they bring the hope of Christ.

🙏 Pray for our participation in the EBF Council and Migration Conference in September.

🕊EBF gives thanks for the fruitful ministry of Neville Callam and extends its sincere condolences to his beloved wife, Dulcie and all members of his family.🙏

The Baptist World Alliance joins Baptists and Christians around the world in mourning the passing of Rev. Dr. Neville Callam, BWA General Secretary Emeritus. A pioneering leader, theologian, and servant of Christ, Dr. Callam’s decade of service helped strengthen the global Baptist family, advance Baptist unity, and expand the BWA’s witness around the world. His commitment to “one Lord, one faith, one baptism” continues to inspire us. We give thanks to God for his faithful life and ministry and pray for comfort and strength for his wife, Dulcie, their family, the Jamaica Baptist Union, and all who mourn his passing.
