PRAYER CALENDAR | HUNGARY
“Growing in Faith and Sharing the Gospel Across Hungary.”

Thanksgiving
🙌 Youth Ministry: We give thanks for the summer National Baptist Youth Camp and the ministry of Budapestifi, whose regular youth worship services bring together several hundred young people for worship, the preaching of God’s Word and fellowship. We are grateful for the way they help young people grow in faith and find a spiritual home in local churches.

🙌 Plántálj Church Planting Conference: We give thanks for the Plántálj conference, held under the theme “From Above”, and for the opportunity for church planters to gather, pray together and share their experiences. We thank God for all those who help spread the gospel in Hungary by planting new churches.

🙌 We give thanks for the Cell Group Movement Conference, held at the Baptist House and led by Inar Brandao. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn together how cell groups can become vibrant, growing and multiplying missional communities.

Prayer Requests
🙏 National Conference for Pastors and Their Spouses: Please pray for the conference taking place on 5–7 November, that pastors and their spouses will be spiritually refreshed, strengthened in their marriages, and renewed in strength and encouragement as they serve together.

🙏 Fénypont Festival: Please pray for the preparations for this nationwide series of evangelistic events using a mobile stage truck, planned for spring 2027, and for cooperation between the organisers and local churches. Pray that through these events many people will hear the gospel and come to a living faith in Jesus Christ.

🇦🇱 A CALL TO PRAYER FOR ALBANIA

Just a few weeks ago, we gathered in Albania for our EBF Council, where we experienced the incredible warmth and hospitality of our Albanian brothers and sisters. Today, we are calling our Baptist family to stand with them in prayer.

Over the past days, Albania has experienced serious unrest as student-led protests have escalated into violence in Tirana and other cities.

🙏 Pray for wisdom and integrity among those in leadership.
🙏 Pray for an end to violence and destruction, and for peace to be restored.
🙏 Pray for those organising and participating in protests, that they would act responsibly and seek peaceful solutions.

“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” — 1 Corinthians 12:26

Just as we gathered as one body in Albania a few weeks ago, let us now stand together as one body in prayer. ❤️

We hope everyone has had a chance to catch their breath and settle back into their usual rhythms after Council! 💛

We are so grateful for the time we shared together in Albania.

We are called to be one body in Christ — and every year at Council, we get a beautiful glimpse of what that looks like across our diverse Baptist family.

We thank God for the moments of worship and prayer, for listening to one another’s stories and learning from each other, for conversations around tables and in hallways, for serving side by side, and simply for the joy of being together.

Different countries, languages and contexts — but one family, united in Christ.

Thank you to everyone who came, shared, prayed, listened, served and made Council 2026 what it was. Until we meet again! 🤍

OPENING CELEBRATION 🎉

What a way to begin Council 2026!

We are so grateful to our brothers and sisters in Albania for the warmth and generosity of their hospitality. We were welcomed with traditional Albanian dances and sweet treats, led in worship by the wonderful Selah Worship Art Ministry Centre, prayed together, and listened as Elijah Brown from BWA shared the Word of God with us.

One message from our Albanian hosts especially stayed with us: “You have helped us so much throughout the years; now we wanted to welcome you.” A beautiful picture of what it means to be the Body of Christ — a family that stands with and serves one another.🫶

And of course, we had some fun too! 😜 Through an emoji challenge, we discovered just how international this Baptist family is: 150 people from 44 countries gathered for Council 2026!🤩

The room was full of joy as old friends reunited, new friendships began, and our Baptist family gathered once again. ❤️

A beautiful beginning to Council 2026 — and what a few days it has already been!

24/09/2026

We Baptists do tend to like our traditions — even when we’re not always that traditional in our ways. 😄

Last year, we started a new one: inviting everyone coming to Council for the very first time to gather before the programme officially begins. It was such a lovely time that we knew we wanted to make it a tradition.

So yesterday, we once again welcomed our Council newcomers! 💛

A chance to ease in, meet some people, put faces to names and feel at home from the very beginning. Our EBF staff, Executive Committee and commission representatives were there to meet and greet them and say: we’re glad you’re here.

We know this Baptist family can feel a little confusing at first — so many countries, faces, connections and acronyms! 😄 But once you’re in, you discover what a beautiful, vibrant and wonderfully diverse family it is.
Welcome to the family — and welcome to Council! 👋

🌍 Did you know that 1 in every 70 people on Earth has been forced to flee their home?

EBF Council 2026 is happening right now in Durrës, Albania! 🇦🇱

But before Council officially began, we started the week with our Migration Pre-Conference, bringing people together from across our region to listen, learn and reflect on migration, displacement and how our churches can respond.

We heard stories that cannot be shared publicly — stories of unimaginable hardship. But we also heard about the many beautiful people who are responding with compassion, opening their hearts and stepping up to meet the needs of those forced to be on the move.

Behind every number is a person. A story. A home left behind. And often, someone offering a helping hand. 💛
