🇬🇧 Step Into the Promise

God brought Israel out of Egypt, carried them through the wilderness, and now the time had come to enter the land he had promised to Abraham. But stepping into God's promises requires more than courage. It requires faithfulness, consecration, and submission to his authority.

In Joshua 1 and 5, we discover that God doesn't simply come alongside us to bless our plans. When Joshua encounters the mysterious Commander of the LORD's army, he learns a powerful lesson: the question is not whether God is on our side, but whether we are on his side.

This encounter also reveals something remarkable about the presence of God, the Angel of the LORD, and the one who goes before his people.

What does it mean to step into God's promises today? And are we willing to follow the King on his terms rather than our own?

🇳🇱 Stap in de belofte

God bevrijdde Israël uit Egypte, droeg zijn volk door de woestijn en nu was eindelijk het moment aangebroken om het land binnen te gaan dat hij aan Abraham had beloofd. Maar Gods beloften binnengaan vraagt meer dan alleen moed. Het vraagt trouw, toewijding en onderwerping aan zijn gezag.

In Jozua 1 en 5 ontdekken we dat God niet zomaar met ons meegaat om onze plannen te zegenen. Wanneer Jozua de mysterieuze Bevelhebber van het leger van de HEERE ontmoet, leert hij een belangrijke les: de vraag is niet of God aan onze kant staat, maar of wij aan zijn kant staan.

Deze bijzondere ontmoeting laat ons bovendien iets zien over Gods aanwezigheid, de Engel van de HEERE en degene die voor zijn volk uitgaat.

Wat betekent het voor ons vandaag om Gods beloften binnen te gaan? En zijn we bereid om de Koning te volgen op zijn voorwaarden, in plaats van die van onszelf?

In deze boodschap uit de serie All Things Restored neemt pastor Sebastiaan van Wessem je mee in het Evangelie van het Koninkrijk en ontdekken we hoe het verhaal van Jozua past binnen Gods grote herstelplan.
