🌅 He is risen!

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the heart of the gospel. He did not only die for our sins; He rose from the dead. The tomb is empty. Death has been conquered.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.'" — John 11:25 (ESV)

Jesus is not merely a historical figure. He is alive. And because He lives, there is hope; real, living hope for every person. Hope that is stronger than death. Hope that transcends borders and languages.

At GlobalRize, we have the privilege of sharing this message every day, in hundreds of languages, to people across the world. Because the resurrection is not an old story; it is living news, today.

He lives. And that changes everything.

🕊️ Good Friday.

Today, we pause at the cross.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave His life for us. Not because He had to, but because He loved. He carried our sins, our guilt, our brokenness. For us.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)

What grace. What love.

He took the punishment we deserved. He bore what we could not carry. And through His sacrifice, there is reconciliation for every person, in every language, in every nation.

Take time today to reflect on what Jesus has done for you.

Stand still at the cross today.

“God led me over a high and frightening mountain!” Fatima* says with gratitude.

She grew up in a Muslim family in Kazakhstan. When she came to faith in Jesus, everything changed. Her family did not approve, and threats, control, and even physical violence followed. Yet God never left her for a moment. 🙏

Today, Fatima serves as a volunteer in GlobalRize’s Russian language team, sharing the Good News with Russian-speaking Muslims. From personal experience, she knows what it is like to live as a Christian among Muslims. It can be lonely and difficult at times. Yet that very experience gives her the strength to pray for others and to point them to the freedom she herself has found in Christ.

Her relationship with her family has since improved. She regularly invites her mother to her house church and continues to pray that she too will come to know Jesus. In this way, Fatima sees how God is working step by step, in her own life and in the lives of those around her. 🌍✨

Pray for Fatima and all volunteers, that they may continue to share the gospel with courage and love with those who are still far from God.

Language Spotlight | Russian

Russian is spoken worldwide by approximately 255 million people.

One language, yet spread across very diverse cultures and life stories. Many Russian speakers have grown up with atheism or Islam, and do not know Jesus as the One who transforms their lives from within.

Through online Bible courses, mentoring, and personal conversations, GlobalRize helps people truly come to know God and grow in a living relationship with Him.

“Prayer sets things in motion,” says Alfa Wijnveen.

For Alfa, prayer is not a side issue but nourishment. It is the place where her relationship with God grows and where He is at work in lives and situations.

For GlobalRize, Alfa wrote the course Teach Us to Pray, which takes students on a journey to deepen their prayer life. Many people, including Christians, are unsure why or how to pray personally. New believers often do not have a church nearby, and those who have been Christians longer sometimes experience prayer as something complicated or purely religious. This is exactly where Alfa wants to help.

In her work, she sees how prayer truly makes a difference. People come to faith after others have been praying for them for a long time. Volunteers appear at exactly the right moment. Relationships are restored when people pray not for changed circumstances, but for peace, love, and God’s presence.

Alfa has also experienced personally how prayer carries her. In seasons when the stories of pain, violence, and despair almost became too much, prayer brought her peace and rest. That gave her the strength to continue.

Alfa’s story shows that prayer is not empty and not powerless. God listens. He works. And He sets things in motion.

The season of fasting invites us to become still before God and to return to Him with intention.

To let go of what distracts us and once again turn our hearts fully toward Him.
As we make room by surrendering, He meets us with His grace, His light, and His nearness.

🙏 Lord, teach us to turn to You with open hearts.

“Someone gave His life for me.”

Pascoal from Mozambique had little hope for the future when he began an online Bible basics course. What he discovered there deeply touched his heart. Jesus gave His life for him, even though he did not deserve it.

He could not keep this message to himself. Pascoal now shares the gospel with others and guides people in their journey toward God through GlobalRize.

Despite challenges, he continues to trust in the Lord.
“God has always provided for my daily needs.”

🎉 A global milestone worth celebrating!

This week we welcomed our 1,000th volunteer. What started ten years ago as a small dream has grown into a global movement of volunteers who share hope and the gospel online with people all over the world 🌍💬

Our 1,000th volunteer, Cristian (23), is based in the Netherlands and was surprised with cake to celebrate this moment. While celebrating, he was already in an online conversation with someone from Bangladesh about faith and life. A beautiful example of how digital mission connects people across borders.

Today, 1,000 volunteers in 40 language teams are active worldwide. From their own homes, they build relationships, have meaningful conversations and share the message of Jesus.

Thank God for all volunteers who are committed to reaching people around the world with the gospel. Pray that they receive love, wisdom and patience in their conversations with others.

“I can be a missionary again!” says Roelof Sietsma enthusiastically.

For more than ten years, Roelof has served as a pastor in Brazil. During the COVID-19 period, when pastoral care had to take place mostly online and at a distance, he discovered mentoring with GlobalRize. It became a great encouragement to him. 🙏

As an online mentor, Roelof walks alongside students who often know very little about the gospel. That is exactly what makes the work so special. They ask honest and foundational questions about God and faith, and there he is able to share the gospel step by step.

Many of his students come from Mozambique and Angola. Roelof helps them discover that faith is more than feelings or extraordinary experiences and guides them to understand the biblical foundations. This is deeply appreciated by the students and fills him with gratitude as well.

One of his students, Pascoal, even grew into a mentor himself. Despite poverty and difficult circumstances, he now shares the gospel on the streets. Through this, Roelof sees how God shapes people and calls them into His work with lasting impact. 🌍✨

Pray for Roelof and all mentors, that they may continue to sow with wisdom and love in hearts that are hungry for the truth.
