Shalom. Good morning to you. Hope you had a restful night. We continue with our devotìon on the Lord's Prayer. We have been considering the phrase: " Our Father in Heaven". The words, 'in Heaven' have been our focus for the past couple of days. We still focus on this as we read from Ps.19, one of my favourite Psalms. This answers many questions about salvation of those who never heard about Christ as quoted by Paul in Romans 1:19,20.
The key verses: 1-3: " *The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His Hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the earth."*
Jesus' directive in His prayer is for us to keep on focusing on the awesomeness of the glory and majesty of God; His omnipotence and great knowledge and greatness. When the greatness of God continues in our gaze we will realistically be able to evaluate the events that go around us and interpreted them in the light of His awesomeness and sovereignty of the One who begins and ends your faith. He is God The Creator of the heavens and the earth and all thst are in them.
Just consider the earth, science has indicated that the earth is very very tiny compared to the rest of the bodies in the space. The sun alone is much bigger than the earth. The sun is fixed. Should it shift 1 unit away from the earth, the earth will freeze like stone and everything in it. If it shifts 1 unit down it will melt the earth into liquid. There are trillions of stars in space each of which is bigger than the earth where we live. Every galaxy is moving in its defined orbit without colluding with each other following natural godly laws of the universe. What is the implication of all this?
1. It help us form some idea of the greatness and transcendence nature of our God.
2. He is the glorious sufficient, immutable, dependable, adeq
