TOPIC: OVERCOMING DISCOURAGEMENT(1)

But he himself went day's journey into the wilderness, and came down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers(1 Kings 19:4)

It’s has been abundantly established that discouragement is a logic of the devil to weaken the faith of God’s people in order to make them derail from the the path of God

What does it mean to be discouraged-
(1) To be discouraged is to cause someone to loose confidence,
(2) To be discouraged means to lose hope, (3) To be discouraged means to be filled with doubt,
Discouragement is a very powerful weapon the enemies are using to derail and destroy so many believers all around the world today
and one of such case is that of Elijah when jezebel issued a death sentence on him and because of this mare threat from Jezebel Elijah became discouraged and he prayed to God to take his life,

Please don’t forget that this is a man God used to perform so many great miracles but just because of a mere threat from jezebel Elijah became so discouraged to the point where he was begging God to take his life,
(1Kings 19:1-4).

Beloved it is very important to know that anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as lord and personal Saviour is saved to walk on the path of the Lord in this world which is the path of courage and confidence,

Please know that for you to build your faith in God more and more it requires daily exercise of your confidence in God’s ability in doing things

However there are experiences that could make us lose confidence in God or even cause our zeal or enthusiasm to diminish

Beloved if discouragement happens we may inwardly develop doubts about God's character and faithfulness to His words and when this happens there is hundred percent possibility that such an individual may become lukewarm or indifferent to the things of God through maintaining an outward appearance of religion.

EXPERIENCES IN LIFE THAT MAY CAUSE DISCOURAGEMENT:

(1) Passing through trials or circumstances that you feel they are too strong for you to handle,
The Israelites were glad when God delivered them from slavery and they were looking forward to the promise Land that is flowing with milk and honey but when they faced hunger and thirst on their journey to the promised land God promised to give to them they became discouraged(Numbers 14:1-4) and even said, they should lead them back to Egypt,

(2) Facing persecution and ridicule in God's service (Matthew 11:2-6, Matthew 5:11-12) John the Baptist towards the end of his life on earth sent his followers to go and ask Jesus Christ if he was truly the one to come or should they wait for another,

Beloved the pressure of imprisonment and physical, emotional and psychological effect may have been what prompted John the Baptist to question Jesus Christ authenticity

(3) Lack of progress in life,
this may involve a Christian lady getting to the age of marriage but she is yet to get a suitor to marry her,
It can also mean a delay in getting a job after graduation or living with a job with a very low salary,
You may be experience failure in your career academics or business,

Beloved all this cases mentioned above can result to discouragement (Jeremiah 29:11).

(4) Delay in having your own children,
What could have been more depressing than not having your own children at the right time after marriage,

Abraham followed God faithfully but he and his wife Sarah suffered great delay in child bearing,
Abraham watched so many slaves he raised in his own household get married and have children with ease but he himself who is their master remains barren but he waited for 25 years for God's faithfulness to be fulfilled and he had Isaac,

Beloved please know that as a believer you should commit your way to the lord and also trust in him to direct your path consistently and you will overcome discourage

PRAYER:
DEAR PRECIOUS COVENANT KEEPING GOD I Thank You For Your Word To Me Today,
Be Praise And Glorify Now And Forever,

Lord God Almighty, I Ask That You Fill Me With Your Divine Strength And Your Abundant Grace To Enable Me To Totally Overcome Discouragement All The Days Of My Life In Jesus Christ Mighty Name Amen!

TOPIC: GO TO THE ANT AND LEARN

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. (Proverbs 6:6)

Everyone knows the creature called ant because it’s found practically everywhere and It's easy for everyone to observe how wise, industrious and hardworking the ant is,

Beloved it is so painful to see people that have two arms and legs begging arms in the Streets while they are supposed to be working in order to provide for themselves

When people become too lazy and turn themselves to executive beggars in order to survive then they have taken a decision to destroy themselves and this decision is so bad and God hates such a lifestyle,

Beloved the study of the ants reveals that they are very orderly and diligent in all they do,

They are very time conscious to the extent that they store food for the rainy days ahead of them in order not to stave to death during the rainy season,

No wonder the Bible admonishes that the sluggard should go to them to learn,

Ants are social insects of the family of formicide. And forms colonies that range in sizes from a few tens of predatory individuals living in small natural cavities to highly well organized colonies which may occupy large territories and consists of millions of individuals that are mostly sterile females forming castes of workers, soldiers, or other specialized groups,

Ants also have some fertile males called drones and one or more fertile females called Queens,

The colonies are sometimes described as super organisms because ants appear to operate as a unified entity and collectively working together to support the colony,

Ants societies have division of labour between themselves and they also have a way of communication between themselves with also an ability to solve complex problems,

WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THE ANTS?

(1)The ants have the ability to exploit resources to their own good advantage
(Proverbs 6:7-8)

Man is taught more than beasts of the earth and made wiser than the fowls of heaven yet he or she has so degenerated to the point he, she may need to learn wisdom from the most smallest insects,

* We need to observe the wonderful deep sense of understanding and judgment of these inferior creatures in order to learn wisdom and instruction for ourselves and also to learn how to provide meat in summer,

We must prepare for the future and not to eat up all we have gathered and lay up nothing for tomorrow,

BENEFITS OF DISPLAYING THE QUALITIES ONE CAN OBSERVE FROM THE ANTS:

(1) First benefit derivable from displaying the qualities one can observe in the ant can be seen in ( Proverbs 6:8) and it says-provides meat in summer because they are able to gather food in harvest (summer)

The ants don't lack food during winter days
because they have stored food for the winter season-This means one could be able to take care of his need at all times if he or she is able to work hard and serve for the future,

(2) One will be at peace with himself enjoying the benefit of his diligence and hardwork
(Ecclesiastes 5:12).

(3) You can get the approval of God and commendation for doing the right thing at the right time,

PRAYER:
DEAR FAITHFUL LORD GOD ALMIGHTY,
I Thank You For Your Word To Me Today,
Be Praise And Glorify Lord Now And Forever

JEHOVAH NISI MY GOD You Have Open My Understanding To The Nature And Lifestyle Of The Ant,
Therefore Lord God Almighty, I Ask That You Fill Me With Your Divine Power To Enable Me To Be Orderly And Diligent In Order For Not To Be A Sluggard But Fervent In Spirit And Hard Working For me To Be Able To Provide For Myself And Those In My Life And Around My Life Now And Forever In Jesus Christ Mighty Name Amen!

TOPIC: CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY

To whom God would make known what is the riches of glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(Colossians 1:27)

Beloved if you have ever been to Israel and the Old city of Jerusalem you would have heard of the Western wall or wailing wall,

That wall is one of the most important significant historic sites for the Jewish people,

While thousands of people from different nationalities throng the wailing wall every year to relish this archaeological masterpiece,others religiously journey there to say prayers and hoping their prayers will be answered faster because of the the significant at this site,

Beloved no doubt the wailing Wall is an iconic religious site indeed but God is truly everywhere,

Some are carried away by the idea that if they pray at a particular prayer mountain, a forest or the wailing wall God will hear them more and answer them faster,

Beloved if that were true Jesus Christ would have thought about it and He would have instructed us to pray at the wailing wall, mountain or forest but he did not,

Jesus Christ said unto her Woman believe me,the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him (John 4:21-23)

The inspiration and blessing of the New testament is in your heart and it's with you everywhere,

The Spirit of God through the Apostle Paul reveals the truth about Christianity- the mystery that was hidden from ages and from generations and That mystery is Christ in you,the hope of glory(Colossians 1:26-27).

This is God's vision that is the reason for the New testament,

Everything you would ever need in life is in Christ and Christ in you,and to have Christ is to have everything,

Henceforth look into your heart, for that's where all the answer is because Christ resides in your heart,

You've already been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3).

The totality of the character and nature of Jesus Christ Our Lord God and Saviour is all that he represents,

His life, power, wisdom, majesty, glory and grace are all tabernacled in you and this is the blessing of the New testament, which is Christ in you the hope of glory,

CONFESSION:
DEAR PRECIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER,
I Thank For Your Word To Me Today,
Be Glorify Lord Now And Forever,

Lord God Almighty, I Ask That You Endued Me With Your Divine Grace To Reign And Rule In Life as Christ lives in me and as He endued me with all grace and ability to reign and rule in life Now And Forever In Jesus Christ Mighty Name Amen!

TOPIC: GOD REFINING PROCESS

Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him
(Psalm 105:18-19).

Beloved it is very important to know that God often takes His children through different parts on their journey to greatness,

God used each step to refine their character and to separate them from anything that could hinder or destroy them after attaining greatness,

For example before Joseph became great God took him through pit, portiphar's house, and prison so as to build his character in preparation for the role of a ruler in Egypt,

Our open scripture says he was laid in iron until God's word came and tried him as gold is tried in a fire until he was certified fit for greatness,

David also went through God's process on his way to becoming the king of Israel and his path to becoming a king was marked by numerous challenges which includes period in exile and wilderness that are very rigorous

Beloved the path to greatness is often paved by countless serious challenges,

The process of attaining true greatness is never easy but it is always worth it,

Apostle Paul described the process as our light affliction (2 Corinthians 4:17)
but however no matter how tough the process gets it is still nothing compared to the exceeding glory that God has created for us,

People who wants to become great without going through God's process do not usually last in greatness if they eventually become great and a very good example of such is King Saul who did not have any formal training on how a king that is raised and enthroned by God should obey God faithfully (1 Samuel 15:17-28),

They often end up losing their place because of habits and weaknesses that should have been addressed,

Those who choose to follow God's process always emerge purified like precious gold,

They become men and women who God can trust with great resources and also with His people,

Even our Lord Jesus Christ followed God's process and when the time came for Him to fulfil God's assignment He was baptized and after that God's Spirit came upon Him,(Matthew 3:16-17)

He didn't start performing miracles the moment He was born because God never raise a fellow without trying and preparing him or her,

PRAYER:
DEAR PRECIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER,
I Thank You For Your Word To Me Today,

Be Thou Glorify Lord Now And Forever,

Lord God Almighty, I Ask That May You Please Help Me To Go Through Your Refining Process Successfully Like The Gold That Is Purified By Fire In Order For Me To Fulfill My Destiny Successfully Well To Your Glory Lord Now And Forever In Jesus Christ Mighty Name Amen!

TOPIC: DO THINGS GOD’S WAY

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways said the Lord (Isaiah 55:8).

Beloved it is very important to know that It pays to always do things In God's way,

The Scripture tells us of the actions of Moses when the children of Israel were thirsty of water in the wilderness and they cried to Moses and Moses in turn and prayed to God Almighty about it,

Then God Almighty said to Moses to smite the rock and water will come out for them to drink and Moses did as God directed and water came out from the rock for them to drink and they drank(Exodus 17: 1-6)

Earlier when the children of Israel were living Egypt they came to the red sea and there was no way for them to cross the red sea to the other side and the worst part of it was that the armies of Egypt and pharaoh their king were marching towards them to kill them,

Beloved at this point Moses cried to God Almighty for intervention and God Almighty ask Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea and divide it and Moses did as God Almighty instructed him to do and God Almighty send a strong wind caused the sea to go back and the waters where divided for them to pass and they walked in the midst of the red sea on dry ground,

Beloved after the children of Israel crossed the red sea then God Almighty said to Moses again to stretch out his hand to the sea for the water to return and Moses did so and the Sea returned back in its full strength and covered the chariots and horseman of Egypt and all the host of pharaoh (Exodus 14: 21-28)

In on another occasion the children of Israel cried again to Moses and they said to him that does he want them to die of thirst in this wilderness,

Moses then cried to God about the situation and God gave him instruction on how to get water for them to drink but however God did not give Moses the same instruction as the first one but this time He instructed Moses to speak to the rock and water will come out for them to drink,

But Moses went and did it in his own way by striking the rock instead of speaking to the rock and this thing that Moses did displease God to the extent that God Almighty said to Moses that he shall not bring the children of Israel into the promise Land (Numbers 20:1-2).

God was trying to teach Moses that there is a higher and better way to do things but Moses on his own path was so used to the way of performing miracles with the rod and that was what caused Moses from entering the promised land he labored so much for,

Beloved God was telling Moses that you can rule by the word of God Almighty in your mouth and that all you need to do is just for you to speak the word of God to the rock and the rock will bring out water,

Beloved there is a higher and a better way God wants us to do things but most times we always want to do things in our way and each time we do things in our own way it does not yield the results we truly desire,

God says as the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your ways,and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:9)

Brethren the ways of God are higher and better than our own ways and likewise his thoughts then our thoughts and that is why human beings can never out smart God Almighty in any way hence is very important for everyone to do everything according to God’s own ways and it shall be well with you in Jesus Christ Mighty Name Amen,

PRAYER:
DEAR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY,
I Thank You For Your Higher And Unprecedented Word To Me Today,
Be Glorified Lord Now And Forever,

Lord God Almighty I have Been Ignorant Of The Fact That Your Ways And Your Thought Are Higher Than Mine Ways And Mine own Thought And Because Of This Ignorance I Have Done So Many Things On My Own Which So Many Of Them Did Not Bring Forth Good Results As Expected,

Therefore Lord I Honor You So Dearly For Making Me To Know That Your Ways And Your Thoughts Are Greatly And Higher Than Mine Ways And Your Thoughts Then Mine Own Thoughts Hence Am Asking From You LORD That You Should Not Allow Me To Depend On My Self And Follow The Leading Of My Flesh Because Following The Leading Of The Flesh Always Leads To Serious Calamity And Calamity Leads To Death,

Jehovah My God Please Help Me To Alway Do All Things In Your Own Your Way From Now Till Eternity In Jesus Christ Mighty Name Amen,
