Text: Matthew 14:22-33
Ministering: Pastor I.S. James

We are in a season of mercy as it never expired. Because of His mercy, He calls to us "Come".

In 2024, we will walk on water. We will do the impossible by the hand of God upon us.

God never performs a miracle without a purpose.

The miracle of feeding the 5,000 is one of the miracles that was narrated in all the four gospels of the New Testament.

The feeding of the 5,000 was God's way of showing His ability to take care of those He created.

Following the miracle, Jesus made His disciples get on a boat and cross to the other side of the sea, and for at least 6 hours, they were on the sea caught by a heavy storm.

He knowingly constrained them to go on that journey. He had been with them in the boat on a similar journey in Matthew 8:23-27 when He rebuked the storm. This experience was supposed to be an opportunity for them to put into action what they had seen Jesus do in Matthew 8.

Unfortunately, no disciple remembered what Jesus had done, so none repeated the act. Jesus, knowing this, decided to go meet them. He was intentional about going to them by walking on water.

He walked on water for the following reasons:

1.
He wanted to unveil Himself further as Israel's true Messiah. He had to convince the 12 beyond any reasonable doubt that He was Christ because they were those who were to be the founding members of the Church.

In Matthew‬ ‭8:27‬, after Jesus calmed the storm, the disciples asked "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” After this encounter in Matthew 14:33, the testimony of the disciples has changed from a question to a statement. They declared about Jesus, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

They had to have had such encounters with Christ because the tribulations and sufferings which would come their way would demand them to have that depth of conviction to stand in faith despite all.

2.
He wanted to teach His disciples the power of the believing faith. He wanted all of them to understand the power of believing faith that they can control the elements of nature.
In 2024, Jesus will be waiting for you. Do not stay waiting for Him to act when He has given His instructions and power to act.

3.
He wanted to teach His disciples the impact of a revelation of Himself. The impact of God-revelation in our lives is deeper during difficult encounters. God wants us to have an experience of Him that creates in His children confidence, boldness and the fear of God. Acts 12:6.

The disciples went through incredible suffering and eventually gruesome death experiences. They gladly went through these because they all had an undeniable revelation of God as the true living God and Jesus Christ as His only Son and the Messiah of all mankind.

Such encounters don't happen when you're eating the multiplied bread (Mark 6:51-52). Some miracles don't produce the fear of God in us.

The encounters that will bring us to an absolute conviction and belief in God to the point of death are not fancy or pretty. They are terrific and undeniable (Exodus 19:16-18).

God's word to us this year is an invitation to Himself.

Takeaways from the Miracle
He wants us to have a new understanding of the power of God's word. Peter did not jump out of the boat until He heard Jesus give Him a personal command to him. Peter understood that every word that comes from God has within it the power to perform that which it was spoken for. Peter walked on the word that Jesus spoke to him, "Come."

In 2024, God will speak a word to each of us, personally inviting us to Himself. We have to trust in the word He speaks and walk upon them.

Job 42:2-5

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

X-Mas or Christmas?
What are the differences in these two words?
Are they the same? Hmmm!
Let us take a look at this.....

The difference
between the word
*CHRISTMAS*
and the word
*X-MAS.*

CHRISTMAS is the
combination of
two words:
*Christ and Mass.*

Before Christ was born, many years ago,
25th Dec used to be
*PAGAN'S day for SACRIFICES.*

Later, in the year
533 AD, Constantine,
the head of the then
Roman Church, which is today the Roman Catholic,
changed the day from
*pagan's day of*
*sacrifices to*
*Jesus Christ's birth commemoration.*

He called the day
*THE MASS FOR CHRIST*
*ie CHRISTMAS*

1. CHRIST in
Hebrew means,
*The Anointed One* or
*The Chosen One.*

2. MAS in
Greek means
*A Big Gathering*
*of People*

Thus
CHRISTMAS means
*The Gathering of*
*People of Christ,*
*(His Followers/Disciples)*

Then,
where did the word
*X-MASS*
come from?
Be ware!!

It's believed that after
the day of gathering of
Christ's Followers
*{CHRISTMAS},*
*became famous and respected worldwide,*
*Atheists & Antichrists decided to change it by*
*removing the name Christ for an X to mean*
*that there is no Christ.*

It changed the meaning
by reading X-MASS
i.e to mean
*"there is no gathering*
*of Christ's Followers."*

*Merry CHRIST-MAS*
*& NOT X-MAS*

X is often used to
designate a person
*thing/factor,*
*whose true name is*
*unknown/withheld.*

"X" has nothing
to do with
*"Christ"*
*"The Anointed One,"*

Let's not replace
*Christ with "X"*
Therefore as a Christian,
don't use X-MAS but use
"CHRISTMAS".

You might have made
that mistake last year by
wishing people
X-Mas
instead of
CHRISTMAS.

Why don't you share this message with your Christian friends?
God bless you as you
help and join in
correcting this big error.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS"
AND NOT
MERRY X-MAS
