God is working for your good
(Rom 8:28 NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
This portion of Scripture is so full of wonderful insights of God's goodness.
First of all, it tells you what God is doing. It says "God is working." It wants you to realize that God has not stopped working, that He is not sleeping, that He is not idle, but that He is actively working. And though what is happening in the world around you and in your life today may make you feel that God does not care, this Scripture says, "God is working".
Secondly, it tells your where God is working. It says "IN ALL THINGS God is working." You realize then that God is working in all things. Do you see all this terrorism in the world? God is working in it. Do you see all these sufferings? God is working in them. Do you see all these misfortunes and missed-opportunities and setbacks and rejections and betrayals and the likes that have happened and are happening in your life? God is working in them all. In the good things of life and in the bad things of life and in the ugly things of life, God is working IN ALL THINGS. One thing is certain my brother, my sister, that God knows how to take what was calculated for evil against you and to turn it around for your salvation because He is GOD.
Thirdly, it tells you why and for whom God is working. It says "God is working for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." And that means you if you have or will make Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of your life now. God is working for your good. I never knew that God works for any one. But this Scripture tells you that He works for your good. Take note. In all these things, the good, the bad, and the ugly of life, God is not working for your destruction or fustration or disappointment. No! He is working for your good, because He knows the plans He has for you, plans of good and not of evil, to give you a hope and an expected end. It makes you to remember that "He that keepeth watch over you does not sleep, He does not slumber." He has not forgotten about you. He did not K.I.V your case or put your file under the drawer. And do you think there is anyone in this whole wide world that can out-smart or out-do Him?
And did you notice how this Scripture begins? It starts with "we know". It says we, you and I, know that in all things God is working for our good. So, let this get down into your knowing so that you can also boldly say, "I know that in all things God is working for my good."
What does this teach you? Learn to look at life from a different perspective. Learn to see God in every thing. Learn to understand what the will of God is in the midst of seemingly frustrating situations in your life. Learn to give Him thanks always. When prayers seem not to be answered, the truth is that God is working for your good.
Open your heart and give Him thanks now because you know that in all things He is working for your good.
